Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am not a professional in the area of alternate energy. I get much of the heat for my house in the winter from a wood-burning stove and have cut my electric bills significantly because of that and energy-efficient appliances. I have felt that alternative energy should have been pursued ever since the 1970's-1980's gas shortage, but Americans weren't willing to make the hard choices at the time. Now we are paying for that.
What excites you about this campaign?
I feel that this plan is a strong way ahead for the United States in the pursuit of energy independence. I'm tired of relying on foreign oil, controlled by Middle East Sheiks and South American communists. This country can break the stranglehold, if we want to. I want to be a part of breaking it!
What do you want to do to help?
I have written my representatives. I would take petitions out for signatures in my community. My wife is unemployed, but has a lot of skill in organizing events. With a little backing, we could organize a large "Awareness" event in Fredericksburg, VA. There are huge numbers of Washington DC Commuters who live there and hate the high price of oil. Perhaps Mr. Pickens could speak at this event.

I am one of the welcome wagon crew. We are all volunteers. Out of sheer numbers I greet daily I have a paste and copy note.
It is not intended to overwhelm you, just give you a direction and some contacts.
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.
*************Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much what the plan is about and where the plan stands, and please come back to these sites often as changes take place regularly. Some are long, please; take the time to get all the details.

Our future is focus 1- at this point in time! Change might just be in our hands at this point in time. Do not let it slip by as we might not get another chance!!!

Looks like the much talked about stimulus package passed. Mr. Obama has voiced that eliminating the dependence of foreign oil is a top priority. Now is the time we hammer our elected officials to allow companies and the private sector to run with new tech and needed infrastruture changes; allowing grants & insentives to help us achieve the energy independance goal!!!

There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause. Again, Welcome; Tom
