Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have an engineering, scientific and international trade background, and am one of the leading Kansas City Real Estate Professionals.
What excites you about this campaign?
It is the chance to FIX the problem not just sell something that does not help. e.g. electric cars which have many other costly environmental issues.

Also, I am active politically at the state level and would like to help this country fix our two major issues. Oil and Heath Care.

I understand the implications of our dollars buying oil overseas. It is my opinion that other major oil consuming countries will not do anything decrease their need for oil, so the prices will continue to climb. Americans need to cut our dependence on foreign products. As history has shown, when faced with a challenge Americans will unite for the welfare of all. It is time for us to join together to again establish ourselves as global leaders.

I live in KS, it is windy. Our state needs to build wind plants. Our coal plant became a political hot spot it is a great time to push wind production.

It is good for Kansas, good for America, and good for the world!
What do you want to do to help?
If I have a good plan I will advocate to the KS State Legislators. Many people are aware of the coal fired plant issue in KS last year. Energy will be brought up again in this legislative session.

Also, I have many friends throughout the Kansas city area for a grass roots efforts.

Steve--

Actually, your post made me think--

Maybe NAR should become involved (in a positve way)--if only because people can afford real estate MORE, and therefore BUY more,...WHEN A SMALLER percentage of money MUST be spent on Energy.

Think about it--

Steve, as a real estate professional, what is your opinion on adding wind power to a home with regard to it's resale value. We look at return on investment when making a decision to purchase a home wind power system but I have seen nothing that speaks to the increase in a property's resale value when alternative energy methods have been incorporated. As a rural resident, I have the property available to allow me to add wind power to my home and currently educating myself on the pluses and negatives of this strategy to reduce energy costs.
