- My earliest experience with alternative energy was about 30 years ago when my parents installed a solar heater on our pool... Then I have always thought the windmills in the High desert and up in the Bay area off the 880 were Very cool! Now living in Nevada we are hampered by a Governor that is pandering to the coal lobby and wants to destroy the northeastern part of the state by building coal fired power plants... Great let's screw up Idaho too! We have more land than sense and could build wind and solar farms all along the highways from Vegas to Reno... It never seems that we are without wind and I believe we have 360 days of sun a year... We could attract business to Nevada for the production of Wind turbines and solar panels! We need to diversify our economy... I want to help make Nevada the center of the Pickens Plan and the Gore agenda... Nevada: The worlds leader in alternative energy

Letter from Senator Harry Reid
I just received the following letter from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. I think it speaks volumes about where he is committed to taking this country in the area of energy independence. As a resident of Nevada I am proud to say he is our Senator.... I just wish I could say the same for our governor. I hope to use this as a beginning and get Nevada excited about taking the lead toward a green America. Please feel free to post your responses to Senator Reids letter.
