- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- Virtually none. But I have been very interested in alternative energy sources such as windmills/turbines and solar panels/arrays and green transportaion alternatives for many years.
I visited the windmill in the Boone NC area several years ago and had a real profound change of outlook on the whole concept of alternative energy. Standing very close to one of these machines can be very impressive! And almost overwhelming.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- To rid our country of foreign oil dependency and to have a coalition of like minded individuals in our area would be such a wonderful way to give back to the community and the country. And to lessen our carbon footprint on the earth as a whole. This should be the goal of every human being.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I could help organize the effort in District 10. I am retired and have lots of free time to devote to the cause. I have a technical background that could be beneficial in many aspects of the organizatiion.

So now we have a new decade and some very important challenges ahead of us as a nation. I think there is little doubt our national economic crisis has been precipitated by importing most of our energy sources and the enormous transfer of wealth out of our country. Of course other factors have helped plunge us into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of the thirties. Once our leaders in Congress come to their senses and pass legislation to increase our domestic drilling for oil in the Great North and to take advantage of the Natural Gas Reserves in the Southwest and other areas.
The Pickens Plan will certainlly be step in the right direction.
We will soon have a plan of action to alert our LEADERS IN wASHINGTON OF OUR DESIRE TO TO BREAK OUR ADDICTIION TO FOREIGN OIL IMPORTATION.
Thanks to everyone for the effort put forth last year and let's make 2010 the year of action!

I have been a Pickens Plan member for 6 months but just joined NC10. I work full time in NASCAR and do not have a lot of extra time....BUT I will do whaatever I can to help. I was raised in the rust belt and trained to work in manufacturing (IE steel and auto) but that is all gone. I have watched the great industrail mite and proud history of our great country vaporize. I am not going to stand on the sidelines anymore. Boone is a leader and I want to join the Army.
Waiting for marching orders. I am here to serve.
If we don't do something quick, the Arabs will completely own this country or we could end up back in 1909 using coal fired steam engines.
Going forward we know that the cost of energy will increase and things will never be the same, but we have a choice. We can do something or ignore the problem and do nothing.
We have to learn to control the direction of our country or end up being controlled by others.
