- Just the thought of freeing us from the grip of foriegn oil excites me.

Wind storm 11th and 12th of February 2009
I could only watch as the hurricane force winds blew past my house and wondered....If only the state of West Virginia (With its VAST wind corridor) had the ability to harnest the hurricane force winds produced by that storm. How many factories,Homes and other buisnesses could have had the chance to benefit from all that "FREE" energy? Obama gave a terrific speech Friday from a wind turbine parts manufacturing facility in Ohio. Now is the time to keep up the pressure. We ARE changing the way everyone in this country looks at the energy crisis, and how it directly effects our economy, environment and national security.

Without Energy Independence, Americans will not have future economy goals. Neither for short term or long term… Will Americans people, Congress, and new President-Elect Barack Obama work with T Boone Pickens Plan, to fix this problem. Good Luck

I am one of the welcome wagon crew. We are all volunteers. Out of sheer numbers I greet daily I have a paste and copy note.
It is not intended to overwhelm you, just give you a direction and some contacts. I do read every profile page.
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.
For those of you that have already jumped in and have made contact with your local leader- thanks.
*************Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much what the plan is about and where the plan stands, and please come back to these sites often as changes take place regularly. Some are long, please; take the time to get all the details.

Mr. Obama has voiced that eliminating the dependence of foreign oil is a top priority.

If you would rather wait on a leader role, that’s ok we need helpers. An organization cannot be all chiefs.
There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and inviting others to the website when you're comfortable. The people here want to do something to foster energy independence and those you invite will find that joining us is the right thing to do.
Here are further steps you might consider, some of which you may have already taken.
- Sign up to lead or volunteer on the Local District page.
- Visit your My Energy page and get involved.
- Get involved with others in your City or State.
- Find and connect with a like-minded Group.
- Start or join a Campus/Alumni group at PickensU.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202) 225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
