- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I don't have any but my husband and I just built our own 5-star plus home with 10 inch super insulated walls and ceiling, high efficiency oil boiler, radiant floor hear, insulated block foundation walls, and we and our neighbors have been talking recently about solar panels, wind private generation etc.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- It is so refreshing to have someone of such prominence, especially someone of a oil background to take such an active and forceful stance on this critical issue. To many times we as a nation have stood by and waited until it was to late. Then we go in after the fact and try and fix what is broken.... sometimes we can...sadly sometimes we can't. I believe our government was warned about where we were heading some 20 years ago and the all but ignored it, many of them still want to put their heads in the sand. They don't want to drill a postage stamp sized plot of land in ANWAR.... they don't want to drill of shore.... now, I know oil is finite, but we have to have a source of fuel to tide us over while we provide new alternative sources. It is my understanding that natural gas is a fossil fuel by-product... that would mean it would also be finite in nature. If we wait even 5 more years we will be in a very scary situation, and if we wait to long we will have very possibly have become inextricably dependent on foreign oil. We need someone as influential as Mr. Pickens to lead this "crusade". It is exciting to have someone with his knowledge, presence, and yes...money to lead the masses to energy independence.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I don't know, I live in a small town at the very end of the road (really the end of the road, you have to turn around and go back the way you came:-) in Alaska, so I am open to suggestions. I might be able to get my neighbor involved too.

Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will see that you are added to the list.

Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state; you can find them to the right, in the Featured Members section. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY …to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
If you are connected to a college or university in your state, can be a campus coordinator, or can help find a campus coordinator, please let me know so we can get the process rolling.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership
2) influence public policy.
3) If you know someone who is in the press, or someone who blogs, get them to cover this and ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
