Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

Marine Engineer -BSME MS Engineering and ..40 years in energy related industries including Gulf Oil, General Dynamics Nuclear Engineering, power industries product engineer (E G & G) ..creative concept designer...Was President and CEO of two engineering firms and owned my own company for 20 years .
I owned a home in the Bahamas out islands for 20 years and designed energy sustainable subsystems in an enviroment where energy was unreliable.
Worked in auto related engineering positions and understand the internal issues with the big 3.
Traveled in and did business in Japan and Asia and understand thier culture.
I have realistic concepts for four energy consuming technologies during the power down period after oil.
I firmly believe ( I'm not a kook or Geek) that end of affordable oil is approaching significantly faster than people believe.
I have the education, experience and desire to create models for alternative energy based: living; ground transportation; long distance travel (when necessary); water retrieval without excess energy; energy villages as models to power down technologies; and general education for the generations from baby boomers to 40 somethings.

What excites you about this campaign?

It is the first time I have seen an intelligent person with $$$ and credability speak out and put his money where his mouth is.
I firmly believe that politicians and Corporate leaders are unwilling and incapable of taking the actions required; because they have opposing agendas and because it is unpopular and painful for Americans.
I suspect that Mr Pickens has some hidden personal agendas that are profit related but ...that is okay if the end result is massive reduction in energy usage. Some one should profit from that.
I also believe that the internet is the only powerful tool that exists today that can reach around the existing politcians and corporate structures that propagate the wrong policies.
I would like tobe associated with a group that has the attention of the people who understand, a group that can enable me to help educate the massive numbers of baby boomers who can still affect what will happen in the next ten years. These next ten years are all we have left to save our civilization from itself.
This is a global crisis and if it continues the result will not be a regional meltdown but a global one.

What do you want to do to help?

I still have to work every day and I do what I do very well.
I can speak out as well as recruit and mostly I can contribute technically.
I am a senior technical executive with communications skills.
I can speak, create power point presentations, present simple understandable synopsize of complex issues and follow focused agendas, whether they be my own or a groups.
I was in the middle of creating a boiled down set of power points for presentation to AARP and baby boomer groups about the end of affordable oil and the theory of power down.
I am doing this so my grandchildren will not perish in a post energy meltdown.

5 Years Out

I wrote this two months ago. Seeing this site I now feel we have a shot at building a boomer ground swell that will overwhelm the selfish bullsh-- being propogated by our political representatives (both parties) whose agenda is to make people feelgood and to hold on to their jobs.
