I also am an Oklahoma boy from Norman who went to the University of Kansas to play football-basketball- baseball and study geology-After two years of defeats by OU I came back home to Norman. I worked in the Oil Paches of southern Oklahoma. I could not understand the capping of wells, until it was explained that at the price per barrel was not economicaly theasible- Later as prises started to rose they still were keeping them capped- My #2 son and I have studied small solar unites and small wind power for farms and any service where transmisson is not availible.

What excites you about this campaign?

I have followed Mr Pickens from day one-Was really excited when I found out he was a good ole Okie, even if he was an Aggie- I came close to being one myself, Baseball coach Toby Green wanted me to play ball at Oklahoma A & M, but Coach Iba wouldn't let me play basketball- Coach Phog Allen, who was a pain in Iba's tail said if I took the football scholarship to KU I could play for him. I also have TwoTexas Aggie sons and a Daughter in law who have degrees in chemical engineering from A & M- my #2 Son has an additional degree in computor science and my daughter in law an additional degree in biochemical engineering. She worked for one of the contractors on the space station which her father John Vincze worked when with NASA , and was well known for his work on the moon rover. My # 1 son is and executive with Valero Oil and my #2 son is doing individule contract with companies working on the Canadian oil schale. We have had some great disscussions about alternate energy.We all agree Mr Pickens is on the right path and support him everytime these issues come up.

What do you want to do to help?

I believe Mr Pickens needs one more item to his plan. it is my thought that we could use may 1% or 2% of our Stategic Reserve a month for one maybe one year or two years and it would keep our refineries producing the same level as to day and we could drop the ammount of foreign oil slowy as other come on line and getting the cars and other sources over to Natural Gas, and impoving our solar system, and most importan is getting Wind Power on line with new transmission lines.

BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

There is also a group called " Veterans for Pickens" you might be interested in joining too - Basically the groups are just building now and getting ready for any initives coming down the road.... and I think supporting them is important.

I think your right on that one... we need to start buying less Foreign oil. I encorage you to look for those "groups" and add your comment to some of their discussions. Its worth noting, I will try to send others to your page as well.
