Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I do not have any experience in alternative engery so far. I do a lot of reading and looking up everything I can find on the Internet about alternative engery. I hope to be able to add solar and wind power to my home to lower or remove all of my electric bill. I wantr to know that I can stay cool and warm and it not cost me an arm and a leg!!!
What excites you about this campaign?
Just knowing that if this get to the right people this can be the best thing to happen to America in a very long time. We can be a country that can stand on it's on resources. This is the best thing for our country. We need to be able to do for ourselves now and in the future.
What do you want to do to help?
I would like to be a part of the wind farm.

Hi Tom
good to see someone from Texas here my folks live in Dickenson TX in Galvaston County.
Anyways one thing I saw on cooling might interest you. It really was just a tube about 100' long buried about 5-6' down. This is where the soil stays the same temp yr. round in Mich. thats about 50 degrees, Texas much warmer of course maybe about 70 degrees or so. (Same temp as whatever well water is in your area) You just run a blower though the tube and back into your house and wala cool air. Have to pay elec. for the blower but its cheaper than AC.
Might work for you, up here we need heat more than cool air cause its cool or cold about 8-9 months per yr. My mom almost always wears a coat up here when she stays up here, and thats usually just June, July, and Aug. Come Sept. my folks head back to Houston area.
Anyways Google underground cooling pipe

Hi Tommy, I, too, am really excited about wind power. I am a legal secretary in Detroit. My firm, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, LLP is one of the few GREEN law firms in the State of Michigan. I am on their GREEN committee and am planning on writing an article for our paper about wind power. As my profile states, my family owns a large farm in the Thumb of Mich. and we are actively educating ourselves on becoming a wind turbine farm. I am so excited about the Pickens Plan. Finally, the U.S. is turning its head and listening re: alternative energy. Have a great day and thanks for including me in your "friend" column. Peggy :-)
Convert at least 25% of all cars, trucks and buses to CNG(10 year goal more is better), make the kits/technology freely available for anyone else willing, simultaneously build coast to coast infrastructure needed to support these vehicles and their travels (refueling etc.). Support and convert as many other cars to electric and alternative fuels, particularly cars used for local commutes and short travel (support laws and work to repeal other laws that don’t support these measures (recent sulfur regulations drove up diesel costs 1.23 a gallon Sweet crude is being refined for diesel and sour crude sits unused simply a poor decision right now) and other alternatives as well, public transport, renewed interest in statewide commuter trains etc.). Open up all areas for new drilling practices(this is as safe and clean as it gets, the environmental issues cannot supersede existing human needs and our greed cannot supersede care for mother earth there is a balance that will allow sustainable growth and economic stability without problem or damage but we have to get started, if need is allowed to run rampant then the response will be chaotic and unsafe like grabbing a tiger by the tail, more reason to use reason and solve the issue both short and long term) Encourage wind use in appropriate/cost effective regions, centralize this effort in areas that will produce moving then to moderate zones ET AL. Utilize clean burning coal technologies and take the burden off oil and use US produced coal (short term solution) Issue permits for Nuclear Power Plants and everyone monitor the process, this is a long term albeit unpopular decision but we have not built a facility in 30 years, think when have you heard of one of these facilities creating a human hazard since Three Mile Island and this is old technology...This modernized coal fired, wind, and nuclear can in ten years reduce of oil intake by 27-45% add Solar to the equation and the 50% of electricity we produce from oil fired plants will disappear, then add CONSERVATION, new building technology, homes built off the grid and 10-12 years we might have a surplus of electricity and stop importing from Canada and Mexico(electric imports). Add a technology tax or charge to old technology/systems and fuels fund anyone who shows promise in emerging fields of energy replacement technology and work hard to reduce the other fifty percent, drill, and close our system to world trade(closed economic system we use what we produce/refine, start on a declining scale and seal it off to outside trade as we replace need with technology and our own produce)… and live on what we produce given all else above is in place and this will protect our sovereignty and economy, we should not send dollars to countries that vow to destroy AMERICA... Venezuela, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, OPEC baby never send another dime...New technology, new refineries, Geo-Thermal, Electric, CNG anything to free ourselves from the economic slavery we are being driven too by the world oil markets, it is wrong to yield our future, our freedom our children to a destiny that will leave them begging others for energy, we are 50% of the World Economy we need to lead and we need through market driven forces, freedom and capitalism to lead in energy revamping, conservation while maintaining our place in the World, we are needed and we have been there for the world, protecting serving and saving those little people with no voice, mistakes have been made but we work to correct them, we believe in the right of the little man and the world needs our unadulterated attention which we cannot give if we are consumed about where our next oil fix is coming from....
