The “Pickens Plan”, for all intents and purposes, it might as well be called the “Make a Rich White Man Richer Plan”. I vaguely remember when G.W. Bush was in the White House and gas was teetering on $3 bucks a gallon. You would have thought that President Bush was hoarding all the gas on his Crawford Texas farm. Every time I turned on a TV, there it was; G.W. Bush, in bed with big oil. It has got to be this that is causing gas prices to rise. After following energy policy, I quickly realized that the government has no interest in energy independence. Energy independence means greater freedom for American citizens. It means more money in your pocket to travel and do what you choose to do. Mobility is a great indicator of freedom. Can you imagine not being able to travel due to energy costs? If it comes down to driving your car or heating your house, your car will sit in the garage. Americans shouldn't even have to think twice…
