Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have been a strong advocate of solar, wind, water and recycling for a very long time, but disappointed in the lack of major research for these natural resources. Having worked offshore drilling oil and seen the excessive expense, waste and downturn of the industry, even then fossil fuels were on the way out with limited future. Earlier I fought against nuclear energy because of the effects of the waste and the lack of technology to protect the environment in the long term, since then not much has changed and hopefully can be refined for later use in our energy future. Coal is abundant and has always needed to be cleaned up, but if processed properly it can be used in short term before it is phased out in our future. Natural gas is clean, abundant and can be used as only a stepping stone to replace imported oil in the very near future, but switch over will be expensive for our short term use. Power from the sun, wind and water technologies, collected and stored, will play a major role in our future energy consumption and independence. Bio-fuels from our everyday waste shows promise in the recycling area which has been an untapped gold mine in the waiting. Bio-fuels from growing corn and other organic plants needs to be rethought carefully as to not interfere with our nations food supplies, but can play a major role within hybrid technologies. Hybrids such as in combining bio-fuels, electric and hydrogen to power vehicles show the most promise in the very near future to help reduce our nation's energy consumption. I truly believe that alternative energy developed from solar, wind, water and recycling is the right path of our nation for the future.
What excites you about this campaign?
Finally a way to organize the efforts for informing the people of the USA on a way to solve our alternative energy needs for the future.
What do you want to do to help?
Spread the word whenever I can. Get others informed and involved.

Hi Tony!
Lower gas prices shouldn't be an excuse to stop conserving - we need to keep making renewable energy a priority.
Check out this blog and let me know what you think!

Thanks for writing back Tony! Since you are clearly pro-active in the need for more renewable energy resources, I'd love for you to take a look at this other new plan I’m involved with. It's a non-profit organization called We Can Power The World! I truly is an amazing foundation and their plan to power the entire world with renewable energy is actually do-able! So if you have an extra minute please take a moment a check out www.wecanpowertheworld.org

Hi Tony! Just wanted to stop by and personally welcome you to Pickens plan! I'm glad to see you taking initiative towards the need for more renewable energy policies and awareness! Please feel free to stay in touch and share you thoughts! Thanks!
Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help. I am contacting to ensure you are kept abreast of current events.
EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will add you to the list.
PICKENS U has been formed for college and university students to get involved. If you know of a student who would like to become am ambassador to helped coordinate the pledge drive please submit names to Pickens U site. This would be good for job resume.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

Check out Pickens "August Call to Action"- for a course of action! Here is an informative video "Topeka, Kansas Town Hall Meeting": http://www.pickensplan.com/news/2008/08/04/video-of-the-topeka-town...
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
