Here's an idea I've been playing around with...I have been looking into thin film solar cell technology. One format makes use of all the area on the sides of large office buildings and hotels.
I often see buildings with a lot of glass area. This often has been made reflective for various reasons.
How about using thin film solar instead of the reflective film. This could be made so that some light passes through, and each building would have a source of power all its own to do with as the tenants wish.
Again, no moving parts and the buildings and technology is already there. I have even read where experiments are being done using diatoms. The critters are fed suitable metals instead of their usual diet of silicates.
Their shells are then used in the making of the solar cells and the result is an increase in efficiency.
Seems there is even a way now to paint or spray what amounts to molecular solar cells on a surface to generate power. What say you?

Tony I wanted to talk to you about the number of people in Colorado who are working for the Pickens movement. From what I have seen so far, you and other members of your state are pushing for renewable energy and a better future for our country. We are organizing a group of passionate individuals who want to spread the word at the DNC and show that this movement is a non-partisan push by the American people to have our voices heard to show that we want to end our involvement with foreign oil sources and to pursue renewable energy in our country. I would love it if you could spread this message to anyone you know and direct them to our group site along with any comments, suggestions or plans for the convention: http://www.push.pickensplan.com/group/goingtothednc
Hope to see you in Denver

We want to invite you to join the Great Plains for Pickens Plan. Our region will be the center of wind energy production, jobs, and economic development. We hope you'll join our network.

I design and sell solar phovoltaic solar systems in Colorado.
What excites you about this campaign?
I am very excited to get the US off of foreign oil and pump that money into our economy and make our country a better place.
