Sure, I would love to have one in my back yard. Unfortunately, the P.E.Co., is the only business in town (monopoly) and I'm sure would fignt it. We live in Phila., PA. I wouldn't mind being the first!
Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I worked as an aerodynamicist for Northern Power Systems, a wind/solar energy company in VT for 1.75 years. Worked as a Wind Turbine Dynamicist for Bob Wilson at Oregon State for 8 months. Went to grad school for Electric Power Engineering specializing in electrical machines and there control. I worked on a wind power control design. I have a thesis and two tests to take and I will be done. Presently I work as a contractor for UTC Fuel Cells as a systems engineer.
What excites you about this campaign?
That prices for gas are high enough that people are finally listening to what I knew in the early 90's. In 1994, they were making wind turbines whose energy cost was 3 cent a kilowatt hour and people were not in favor of it. Going 25 rpm now, they are quiet (as long of course as they don't screw up the Aerodynamics). I would like to see this happen.
What do you want to do to help?
I am pretty knowledgable. You want information, I can get it. I do know a bunch of old ladies that would plant turbines on theirland in CT and in Martha's Vineyard if someone had them to plant. I doubt they can afford the cost of one of these big ones but some of them have enough land for it. I am concerned that the only people who have glass are the Saudis, I hope that is incorrect.
