Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?: Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize

Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:: Back in the late 1990's I installed a solar power system at my house with a solar array, an inverter, and batteries. It worked fine in the beginning. I drive a truck over the road and I wasn't home often enough to maintain the batteries by filling the cells with water. After a few years many of the cells started going bad. I liked the idea of having my own power backup system, but the lead acid batteries proved to be the weak link in the chain.

What excites you about this campaign?: We can generate a substantial amount of power from wind. Also we can shift much of our transportation fuel consumption away from imported oil to domestic natural gas.

What do you want to do to help?: I am one of the first people to start podcasting, starting in December of 2004 and continue to podcast on a daily basis, both with audio and video. As a result I'm well-known in the world of podcasting. I have an interest in discussing practical alternative energies as well as coming up with solutions that will work in the real world that are not pie-in-the-sky or depend on technologies that haven't been developed yet. I also like interviewing people for my podcast and would love to have T. Boone on my show. Podcasting isn't network radio or TV, but nonetheless it is a powerful grassroots form of communcation that can really motivate people since the podcast consumer has complete control over the podcasts they choose to consume.
