When I saw the Pickens Plan T. V. commercial I said to myself, wow, finally someone is promoting a clean energy plan what can I do to help? I believe global warming is real, a scientific fact, most of my friends do not and that's a major concern to me. I try to pitch them on how to save energy but they are energy addicted. I won't stop trying to help them understand. Joining the Pickens Plan let me know that there is people out there willing to fight for the future of our planet, also United States independence from forgeign oil. Our future depends on alternative energy sources and the Pickens Plan will take us there.

Merry Christmas Tyra,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Tyra, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

Hello Tyra, These new roof mounting residential wind turbine kits shipping now. The kits are attractive, sleek, well designed to install as a home appliance on the roof, much like an antennae or satellite dish. They are as easy to install as other home appliances, like dishwasher, etc. You can now begin a personal energy plan. These systems are inexpensive, easy to install, scaleable.

Your Wind blows stronger in the winter, Your Sun shines stronger in the summer months. This hybrid wind/solar system combines these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. This homeowner sized wind/solar system provides free power for your home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. Customers can become a dealer with no further investment, they see quickly how people are easy to get interested.

I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs and Tyra, you can too. Your local wind resources are so good in Oklahoma. Please see these windmaps at the link below and pinpoint what number your area is in. Zone 2 is OK, anything over 2 is (very) good. First double check your wind resources from the map and links below.

Tyra, I want to invite you to check out the Artists Round-Up group.

Because I knew of no other way to do this on this site I decided to create the project in the form of a group. Although, at least in it's beginning stages, the group is really more of a roster for artists to sign in and make themselves know to each other and to all those who are involved in the Pickens Plan than it is an actual group. It is possible though, and not unexpected, that it perhaps will sooner or later evolve into being a genuine group and doing and having as a genuine group.

For now though, I both invite and encourage you to at least go and check the group out. Once you see the set up you'll know whether it's for you or not. And if the purpose of the Artists Round-Up group does not indicate to you maybe there are others you know who might be interested. In such a cirucumstance I would, of course, appreciate your telling them about the group.

Thanks.

Hi Tyra,

Thanks for joining the Pickens Plans community. We Need You!

Good News is Blowing Our Way:

* Claim: Barack Obama says his energy policies would create 5 million new "green-collar" jobs in the economy.

* Rocky Truth Patrol says:

* This is a maybe only because it's an economic estimate based on a job category that no one officially tracks - at least not yet. And depending on which economic models are used to make these estimates, Obama's forecast of 5 million green-collar jobs might actually be too low, some experts think!

Obama says his administration would invest $150 billion over 10 years in a "clean energy economy" and "help the private sector create 5 million new green jobs."

Obama takes his figures from two recent studies. The University of California at Berkeley said energy efficiency alone could create 5 million jobs nationwide in the next decade. Note that this study counts jobs created directly in this field, but also indirect jobs created by the demands of the new workers and "induced" jobs created by overall growth in the economy.

The University of Tennessee recently estimated that 5.1 million new jobs could be created by 2025 if the nation got a quarter of its energy from renewable sources. That job number also includes indirect jobs.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the nation should expect 15.6 million new jobs in the decade between 2006 and 2016. Adding 5 million "green" jobs would represent just a 3 percent boost in the total employment, which hovers at about 150 million.

The Apollo Alliance, a nonpartisan organization of business, labor, environmental and community leaders, has said they wouldn't count indirect jobs, as do the studies on which Obama relies. However, spokesman Keith Schneider said the alliance actually believes, based on analysis of these studies and others, that the 5 million figure might be too low!

"It's going to be more than that," Schneider said. "The demand for this sector of the economy way outpaces the capacity."

For example, Schneider said, wind energy - a big issue for Coloradans - is facing a capacity crunch because there is currently a three-year backlog for the plate steel needed to make the wind turbine blades. The industry needs people to make the steel, then the blades, then install them, then maintain them, he said. But federal policies - including a tax credit that has expired before and is about to expire again - have made business bumpy, he said.

"The Apollo Alliance's research on the jobs question shows us clearly that if the United States pursues a new national economic development strategy to replace fossil fuels with clean sources of energy and the tools to use them, the economy will generate 5 million new jobs, and likely much more than that," Schneider said.

Hey,

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan with the rest of us. We are glad you are here and we need your help.

The stars have aligned to create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is and has been urgently needed. We have an angry citizenry due to “pain at the pump”; a presidential election on the horizon, a man with a plan to dramatically and imminently reduce our dependence on foreign oil, while providing a bridge to future solutions who has the resources, contacts, knowledge and wealth to (with our help) bring us closer to our goals.

Please share this plan with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN, as it is simple and free.

With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and ensure that our future President will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions.

Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat by only pennies the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.

List of ideas:

If you know of someone in the press- contact them and ask them to cover this.
If you can write to a Congressman/woman via email or ground mail, please do so as soon as possible or you can call them 202.225.3121. Ask them if they support 100% clean electricity in the next 10 years.
If you know of someone in the public-eye, ask them to support this and join this site.
If you can write a letter to the editor of your local paper- please do so.
If you want to print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window- please do.
More importantly –please take just a moment to ask 5 people to join this online network by emailing them from your profile page and invite them JOIN the same way you and I did. THAT IS WHY WE ARE HERE.

You will have lots of fun on this site, meet a lot of people and learn more than you ever imagined. Start by joining some groups.

Be sure to check out my friends, as they are so smart, creative, educated, talented, hardworking, wholesome, friendly, helpful and very passionate.

Please remember why we are here, as we must help get our numbers up at a faster much pace.

Have a Green day,

Kim (Texas)

p.s. If you would like you can add me as one of your friends so that we may keep in touch and share ideas and information. Click the button (hyperlink) below your profile photo on your page + Add as friend.
