Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am looking for alternatives that I can invest in and/or use right now. I have a Honda Civic Hybrid and love it.
What excites you about this campaign?
I have been wondering what is wrong with our current generation. I have felt disappointed that some personality has not stepped up with a plan. I was hoping for a 19-year-old Steve Wozniak dude to save us all and irritated that I want to do something, but am a forensic scientist and not an energy guru...
What do you want to do to help?
invest, buy something, zone my house for a personal windmill...

Merry Christmas Valerie,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Valerie, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

Greetings Valerie,
Our cost effective, new roof mounting residential wind turbine kits are shipping now. They are sleek, attractive, and well designed. These are actually a home appliance on the roof, much like an antennae or satellite dish. They are as easy to install as other home appliances, like dishwasher, home theatre, etc. It's a nice clean way for you to begin your Personal Energy Plan. These systems are inexpensive, easy to install, scaleable.

Your Wind blows stronger in winter, Your Sun shines stronger in summer. This hybrid wind/solar system combines these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. This homeowner sized wind/solar system provides free power for your home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. Customers can become a dealer with no further investment, they see quickly how people are easy to get interested.

I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs from day one and Valerie, you can too. Your local wind resources are so good in Oklahoma. Check these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. Zone 2 is OK, anything over 2 is (very) good. First double check your wind resources from the map and links below.

Convert at least 25% of all cars, trucks and buses to CNG(10 year goal more is better), make the kits/technology freely available for anyone else willing, simultaneously build coast to coast infrastructure needed to support these vehicles and their travels (refueling etc.). Support and convert as many other cars to electric and alternative fuels, particularly cars used for local commutes and short travel (support laws and work to repeal other laws that don’t support these measures (recent sulfur regulations drove up diesel costs 1.23 a gallon Sweet crude is being refined for diesel and sour crude sits unused simply a poor decision right now) and other alternatives as well, public transport, renewed interest in statewide commuter trains etc.). Open up all areas for new drilling practices(this is as safe and clean as it gets, the environmental issues cannot supersede existing human needs and our greed cannot supersede care for mother earth there is a balance that will allow sustainable growth and economic stability without problem or damage but we have to get started, if need is allowed to run rampant then the response will be chaotic and unsafe like grabbing a tiger by the tail, more reason to use reason and solve the issue both short and long term) Encourage wind use in appropriate/cost effective regions, centralize this effort in areas that will produce moving then to moderate zones ET AL. Utilize clean burning coal technologies and take the burden off oil and use US produced coal (short term solution) Issue permits for Nuclear Power Plants and everyone monitor the process, this is a long term albeit unpopular decision but we have not built a facility in 30 years, think when have you heard of one of these facilities creating a human hazard since Three Mile Island and this is old technology...This modernized coal fired, wind, and nuclear can in ten years reduce of oil intake by 27-45% add Solar to the equation and the 50% of electricity we produce from oil fired plants will disappear, then add CONSERVATION, new building technology, homes built off the grid and 10-12 years we might have a surplus of electricity and stop importing from Canada and Mexico(electric imports). Add a technology tax or charge to old technology/systems and fuels fund anyone who shows promise in emerging fields of energy replacement technology and work hard to reduce the other fifty percent, drill, and close our system to world trade(closed economic system we use what we produce/refine, start on a declining scale and seal it off to outside trade as we replace need with technology and our own produce)… and live on what we produce given all else above is in place and this will protect our sovereignty and economy, we should not send dollars to countries that vow to destroy AMERICA... Venezuela, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, OPEC baby never send another dime...New technology, new refineries, Geo-Thermal, Electric, CNG anything to free ourselves from the economic slavery we are being driven too by the world oil markets, it is wrong to yield our future, our freedom our children to a destiny that will leave them begging others for energy, we are 50% of the World Economy we need to lead and we need through market driven forces, freedom and capitalism to lead in energy revamping, conservation while maintaining our place in the World, we are needed and we have been there for the world, protecting serving and saving those little people with no voice, mistakes have been made but we work to correct them, we believe in the right of the little man and the world needs our unadulterated attention which we cannot give if we are consumed about where our next oil fix is coming from....

Join us at Carbon Neutral as we move forward with our plans to Flip a City.

Vacant Buildings - Holyoke

Download the pdf (4 MB) and get a sense of where we have to start.

Then watch us grow and implement a plan to install grid tied solar pv systems on all rooftops, and most importantly, bring an entire City back to life as Carbon Free as possible.

It was a friend of mines' father - he built it a nuber of years ago, and unfortunately this brilliant man has gone blind due to detached retina's and a failed suergery. I am sure if you research, you can find someone capable of doing this in your area.

The information in this thread really interests me. CNG Pickup? That's something I need to explore. Investing in Wind...that's also something I would like to know more about.

I live in Bloomington Indiana, but step outside the city, and it's vast tracks of open farmland and woods all around here. I have friends with farms that would consider sharecropping their property to put windmills on, but the questions are always the same...

How? Where do I start? What type of licensing do I need? What's the benefit back to me and my family's energy bill?

All of the Home Improvement shows on TV, and none that truly help with this type of information. Getting the info out to people so they would be informed, and could actually consider it based on facts would go a long way toward making some groundswell support happen.

Chris, can you send us more information on the Natural Gas company and in particular the plans / schedule for the wind aspect?

Thanks.
