Hi all.. I don't know how much I can help, but count me in. :)
Welcome to the Louisiana 1st Congressional District Group for the New Energy Army! If you live in LA-01, please join us to learn more about Pickens Plan
events and activities taking place in our District.
This site is to gain support from rural American's who want to see alternative power and to provide support for farmers and ranchers through changes in energy supply.

- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
As a wildlife artist and lifelong resident of Louisiana I am very much in tune with changes in the environment. It didn't take a hurricane to convince me that something needed to change. The south, especially Texas and Louisiana need strong alternative energy industries in order to make a transition of the profits, taxes and the oil industry workforce already in place here. I hope that you will enjoy my artwork and photography, all hosted on a website server powered by sun and wind.
Working as an artist from a rural home means depending on the availability of light to work by. As we shift the lighting needs over to active solar, we find the new, brighter solar security lights are a big help. Living in a rural area it's very nice to still have security lights when the power goes out, and the solar panel has been through snow, ice and storms with no damage or reduction in output. I've been looking into residential wind and solar power for some time. I look forward to learning more.

- What I can; which isn't a great deal at the moment, Hosting my website on wind and solar powered servers with an American company is a start, but who knows what I'll get into in the future... :) I'm still exploring.

As a 25-year veteran in Power Generation & Energy Development, let me thank you for getting involved and extend an offer to provide insight and assistance in your local efforts. This is a very do-able plan and it starts with people like you in making it a success. The key to the plans success will be communicating to the masses.We need to communicate reality not dreams for unfortunately the American public has a very short attention span and most are living day to day. The Pickens Plan as it stands right now is at the 50,000 ft level. We need to develop a more comprehensive detailed national execution plan for the next five years. The first section should incorporate conservation and placing public pressure on elected officials at all levels of government to engage and approve a national plan while in parallel we are designing, constructing and installing the new alternative energy infrastructure systems. Once we have the grass roots base involved at this level, we can then continue to communicate the next steps of the plan to them to help bring us to the Energy Independence we are looking to accomplish Delete Comment

I am one of the welcome wagon crew. We are all volunteers. Out of sheer numbers I greet daily I have a paste and copy note.
It is not intended to overwhelm you, just give you a direction and some contacts.
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.

Looks like the much talked about stimulus package passed. Mr. Obama has voiced that eliminating the dependence of foreign oil is a top priority. Now is the time we hammer our elected officials to allow companies and the private sector to run with new tech and needed infrastruture changes; allowing grants & insentives to help us achieve the energy independance goal!!!
Pres. Obama has a site for us to go and voice our vision for the country/world.

There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.
