- Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
- No
- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- None! But like the vast majority of Americans I have learned, in my 62 years, how to waste energy being produced by dirty resources. And I've learned as an American to want EVERYTHING and want it NOW for LITTLE OR NO money. At the very least we have to educate our kids.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- FINALLY we have some body with the horsepower (yes, and money) to lead the charge. Some body to force our government to CHALLENGE all Americans to become energy independent in a very short time. Just as JFK challenged the people of this country to go to the moon and return safely in ten years. And by GOD we DID it. The amount of time necessary could be determined by forward thinking visionaries, answering to the president, with the ability and wisdom necessary for the job. I've read a lot of articles online by just the right people for the job.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Get the word out. Little things like switching from incadescent lighting to flourescent. Pass a law forbidding incadescent bulbs. Just using common sense. Think before you begin ANY activity requiring the use of energy. ANY kind of energy. Make it second nature just as turning on every light in the house when the family occupies only 1 or 2 rooms is now. THINK!

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON - - With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.
Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the Main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will see that you are added to the list.

On the upper right corner of Your Page, click on "States" to visit the Push Pickens Community for your state.
Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state. You can find them to the right, in the Featured Memberssection. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U has been formed for college alumni and university students to get involved. If you are or know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to help coordinate the pledge drive, please submit names to Pickens U site (found on the Main page). This would look good on a job resume.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership nor
2) influence public policy.
If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
