Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

Mostly theoretical/technical knowledge. But I have built and owned a bi-fuel vehicle, built some solar water heaters and such, and am interested in water recycling technology.

What do you want to do to help?

I so agree with your statements.Even pushing energy issues and factors aside, our country is in need of new infrastructure overhauling anyway, may as well be energy efficient. I think the more catastrophic the weather patterns become, the infrastructure becomes even more paramount. Things never happen the way we predict. Massive storms and black outs and electrical outages on a large scale could do more damage economically and emotionally than a terrorist attack. Just the inability to bounce back from these wipe outs historically has shown to be a pretty overwhelming thing for the average citizen and economy .I can remember having this conversation with my very conservative sister in her very nice home in Cedar Rapids over ten years ago. Of course I was scoffed at and teased at the time as being somewhat of an extremist worry wart, lol. It was just so strange when the whole damn town was unwater recently and she wrote me from AZ saying she couldnt believe what she was seeing on CNN. I think it would be a very good idea for them to start rebuilding our internal structures with this very inclement weather in mind. I dont know why we spend money on certain things, I guess we are spending millions to replenish beaches on a constant basis. It gets discourageing to hear some of these reports. I just feel its important to live in a cleanly way, and to not be wasteful. Hence I feel recycling and garabage disposal would be a top priority in running a city, thats what makes us better than third world countries, it IS important.. Almost 700 thousand here now and a very weak, very weak recycle program. I spoke with an aid for Suttle and he is suppose to be "green", so we shall see! As for Pickens, ah yeah, what happened to him?

Everyone has the option on their profile page to do many things. Everywhere it says (Edit) click and you can customize.
Find (settings) upper right corner of your page. You can update your profile, change the manner you receive things. You can chose to preview the comments coming your way before it can be viewed by others on your page. You can accept or delete the comment.
Also; every time you write a comment you’ll see a little tiny (symbol) of sort in the upper right corner of that comment or post; click on it and delete your note. You can still do it months later.

We also need to keep hammering our elected officials to allow companies and the private sector to run with new tech and needed infrastructure changes; allowing grants & incentives to help us achieve the energy independence goal!!!
There is a group for almost everything. Type any word of a topic that you would like to see. Do not be afraid to go clickin crazy!!!!

The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
