Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have been interested in alternative energy sources for many years, starting in the 70's during the Arab Oil Embargo. Ring any bells? I have lived in Alaska all my life with a few execeptions when working outside the State and having worked in Alaska's oil fields has only intensified a sense of urgency to break our country away from importing so much of our energy from outside our means or control. So following the increasing amount of Solar,Wind,Wave,Bio-Fuel and Electric has convinced me that we have had the answers for some time to reduce our imported fuel drunkness. I have no doubt whatsoever of being able learn, sell, build or maintain any alternative energy source if I choose to.
What excites you about this campaign?
That a man like Mr.Pickens has got out of his chair at a Texas Holdem game and pushed ALL-IN has got me excited! I also realize there are many obstacles in the way but we working Americans have to finally say enough to the nonsense that we have been fed by Washington, our elected representivies and other powerful Corporations,Wall Street and on and on.I see our Nation in a most Positive light! It's time to get to work! With Mr.Pickens Plan and a continued pressure on Washington we can begin to bring about the next great building Renaissance!
What do you want to do to help?
To start, I will contact my friends and get them to look at the Pickens Plan and urge them to give it a study. Keeping focused, and reminding people that one of the things this is about is National Security, that we have our collective necks in a noose that keeps tightening and it's high time to get off the gallows! I am convinced that after two hundred plus years as a nation and overcoming World Wars, racial divides and other challenges that have tested our Nations resolve, that with Mr.Pickens leadership and his willingness to put himself out there, that we will make this work!

Wayne, Best way to track what is developing in Homer, AK regarding renewables is to join the Sustainable Homer site. Have you visited Chena Hot Springs and what Bernie Karls is doing with low temp geothermal?

Welcome Wayne and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Below are some suggestions on how you can help. I see you have already jumped in.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON - - With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to President Obama, our Representatives in Washington and your Governor, too.

Go to the MY ENERGY page. Register and make your voice count.
Go to THE PLEDGE Lend your voice to the call for American energy independence Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

Download the pledge/petition : get them signed, fax them in to the 888# at the bottom of the pledge, asap.
This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledge. Let Kim Anderson know when you are done and she will see that you are added to the list.

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
Join us for a March on Washington.

PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
If you are connected to a college or university in your state, can be a campus coordinator, or can help find a campus coordinator, please let me know so we can get the process rolling.

Transportation is an inportant part of the plan, it's what the fuel is about. As Americans we dont want to give up our mobility. Mobility takes fuel of some sort and that's our draw back.
