Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am aware that wind energy infrastructures are being implemented in Ireland and the UK as well as areas of the upper Midwest. Minnesota has even passed a tax on the wind. I have no experience with alternative energy but I do have a strong technical background and have extensive experience with many of the engineering firms that put infrastructure in with most of the independent energy and telecommunications companies through out the country, especially in the upper Midwest. Many times, the TelCo is also the energy provider. These people are good Americans who are willing to do things for their country and are usually on the forefront of technology in spite of the ROI from subscriber revenue in their service areas.
What excites you about this campaign?
I have long felt that high gas and oil prices were presenting us with an opportunity and been calling for the government to, instead of issuing worthless tax rebates, cycle the money through the RUS earmarked for alternative energy plants for a long time. This will not only reduce our dependence on foreign oil but will also give the economy a shot in the arm, help clean up the environment, and reduce world conflict. Oil is an antiquated energy source and we should start replacing it.

The government has regulated its self into a situation where there really is no way out other than to implement alternative energy infrastructures. There is not time to do anything else.

The problems that remain with this are technology issue that are always resolved with money.

Here's hoping that the gas and oil prices continue to climb and the government at least stays out of the way.
What do you want to do to help?
I have been writing supporting wind energy for some time and will continue to write and press my Congressman and other elected officials to jump on this band wagon. I also write supporting this in blogs and in response to articles in the press on the subject. I am pressing the government to make funding available in the form of grants or low interest loans to encourage the installation of wind powered infrastructure.

Congressional Antics

What Congress is planning to do now is attach oil drilling to the renewal of the tax credits that have been one of the major catalysts for the adoption of this technology. This will, of course, turn into a major battle in Congress and delay or prevent the renewal of the tax credits. This is being done on behalf of foreign oil interests who are starting to feel the heat from the rapid growth and adoption of renewables.

Each home would be priced based on the past years published local utility rate. So in Maryland where I get by power From BGE I would pay based on .09 KWH for the next 25 years.

Sure. The illegal regulation by the government is what got us into this situation.
