There was Never anyway for the general public to stop the stimulus plan! Come on people it was a given. It's part of the political game big business still gets what it wants and the little guy (us) pay's for it. AIG, need I say more?
I guess it's too late now, 2/26/09. We're in it for almost 800 billion to "stimulate" us out of a depression. What's wrong with this pictire ?

- None, captive of oil because no other option is available to us. Florida should also use more solar... diversify! to what works in each area!!!
- What excites you about this campaign?
- We own a trucking company and purchase over 50K gallons of diesel each week! Most of our trucks are leased so we are bound by lease contract to use diesel for fuel, cannnot alter the engines with added fuel-cell technologies or, we are told, it will "void the manufacturer's warranties", and in the US we must use "cleaner" (most expensive) types of diesel (relative to other countries who are permitted to burn cheaper grades of diesel such as China). Our country is too great to be dependend on any one for any thing!
- What do you want to do to help?
- I have no idea how to help! How or where do you get semis that can run on natural gas? Where do you get huge supplies of it? HELP! If such machnines exist, tell the transportation industry where to get them. We could advertise on the sides "Powered by America's own!", etc. We can also discuss this at local meetings.

- Glad to see your exuberence! The NG modifications for trucks from various comments I've read already exist, however most exist in home garage mechanics prototypes. As a former OTR driver, I fortunately now am the sales manager for a major builder, so I do understand of which you speak. The industry follows the manufacturers and they may still be in bed with the oil companies. Considering your trucks are leased, then without a doubt you need to apply pressure to the company you are leased from to get you the trucks you want or you will be forced to go somewhere else to meet your needs. Have them do the leg work. As far as the industry, until the government forces it to get off it's behind, nothing will happen with NG conversions. You need to contact every engine and truck manufacturer tell them what you want and that you are willing to not only advertise on your trucks, you could also work a deal with them to also wrap your leased trailers promoting their company leadership in NG also.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to think that we could be looking back and apologizing to our children that we chose not to get this done when we had the chance.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan. Print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window.
YOU MAY FEEL INSIGNIFICANT
Individually, we each feel the same way, but together we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous and more secure America. Thanks again for joining us in this historical effort!

Check out the Legislation Tracking and Write Congress groups as well as the various groups for Solar, CNG, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
