Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I worked on the Emergency Operating Procedures team and Abnormal Procedures team technical manuals and graphic NRC flowcharts for getting a nuclear power plant back up online. My husband supervised a coal testing lab at a power facility to ensure clean, efficient coal and I was a lab tech there testing coal. My husband owned an oil and gas drilling and production business for ten years in PA and we heated our homes (and many others) with natural gas from these wells, as well as drilled and produced oil leases for investors.
What excites you about this campaign?
I know that we can take steps immediately to resolve our issues and people will be patriotic in stopping the flow of dollars to terrorist nations. With the right marketing at local levels we can grow this project without the government red tape. We the people still run this country and we do not need approval for some of these steps to happen - and if that is a roadblock, I'm convinced we can have the roadblocks removed when the power of the people begin to speak! BTW since when does a teens approval rating Congress represent our nation's citizens and decide our future in its entirety?! We can move on without them because we can't boot them out of office due to corruption. There is hope; a chance to directly impact dollars funding terrorism and a chance to rebuild our economy - if we organize and work quickly!
What do you want to do to help?
I believe we can convert our engines - like my F-250 and my son's F-250 to CNG with an adapter kit. I know tons of people who will do this. I know it is not difficult. My husband and I will set up a place to convert cars and trucks if you help us. We will organize CNG filling stations being built. Auto makers need to stop crying the blues and start producing the CNG vehicles for the USA - they ship them overseas! Stop exports by 20% and start offering them here. Get the President to declare emergency orders for CNG stations to be built and by-bass DER and Congress red tape. We need a President that says HALT to special interest and green initiatives - this is a national security issue and I will help send that message. My business is advertising and marketing - I have had ad agencies for 13 years and I am able to accomplish goals and follow through on them all!

CNG Refueling Stations in NY

I am interested in installing CNG Refueling Stations in western New York. How do we go about making this happen? We can all convert our much needed F-250 4x4 pickup trucks and save fuel. We would love to open a facility to convert people's vehicles to CNG for them. We can make the impact right now in a very short amount of time. This is something we can do. We need a waiver from red tape and DER restrictions that keep the plan from happening. Who can make sure that a project like this is not bur… Continue

Hello and good morning Wendy
How it works is if the home has nautral gas for heating it is all set to be a station.
The Home Refueling Stations just are wired in and contated to the home gas line.
The F3 units hose in contated to the car or truck and you hit the start button and in a few hours the tank will be filled. When it fills to 3000 psi it shuts off.

The best part is you fill at night when the need for power and gas is low.
I do have handle on alot of this units that are rebuildable and ready for install.

Hello Wendy I find a lot of my CNG parts on Ebay. The Home Fueling Station can run used from $2000 up to $7000 new.I have found some good people on Ebay and have spent a few years on the CNG Bug project. Fuelmaker who made this pump has been sold and the whole shop and supplys have been shipped to Italy to start to remake the productnext year.

Here is a site that will help cut the Red tape http://www.younkincng.com/
Let all team up and push this plan start with the Bug every one loves it and a few other cars or trucks. I can get the TV time and have a plan.

Hi Wendy, If you agree with this plan please consider passing to other people in your district as it will be a great tool to get funding for PickensPlan projects. This is a way to help and give tools to all of us for getting more RE projects started. I have been pushing for the sell of US Treasury "Energy Independence Savings Bonds". Savings bonds are normally purchased in $25 increments. This gives a way for just about any American to tighten their belts just a bit by skipping a meal at McDonalds or Pizza Hut and buying a RE savings bond to support a project. I need help pushing this project, I've faxed and emailed many in Congress/Senate already. My email is ke6cvh@yahoo.com. Here is a copy of a fax sent to Nancy Pelosi yesterday:
27FEB09

Honorable Speaker of the House Congresswoman Pelosi,

I am an Electronic Technician Chief in the US Navy with 27 years service stationed overseas. I’m outlying an idea to assist and work with current plans for achieving energy independence. I urge you, as speaker of the house and the driving force to form the select committee on energy independence and global warming, consider for discussion and introduction into the house US Treasury Savings Bonds for Energy Independance.
In WWII America sold war bonds supporting the war effort. When young, my mother told me her primary school raised enough money through bonds to build a tank to support troops. I am impressed with the patriotism and purpose of our greatest generation that accomplished so much.

Selling energy bonds for RE (Renewable Energy) development would lower foreign oil imports and assist with the complex problem of funding. Bonds sold as “Energy S” could support new solar trough plants, “Energy W” to support wind farms, Energy “H” to support hydroelectric plants, Energy “T” to support RE transportation such as electric bullet train routes powered by RE, Energy "C" COOPS for small communities only needing a small quantity of turbines, and Energy “I” for needed infrastructure high voltage power lines to the RE site. Bonds will have the project name and include an artist’s perspective of the project and an American flag. President Obama had great success with the internet during his campaign. In a similar manner, using the internet, energy bonds could have a website listing current projects and an “electronic checkout” could purchase a bond $25 or higher. Simpler methods of payment such as “PAYPAL” and credit cards would be available and after an electronic purchase is complete a color print out of the bond is available with a follow up of the bond in the mail. The website would limit quantity of projects for each category until funding is complete. After a project becomes funded, a new project will be available. A tab on the site will show history and status of previous projects. Purchasers may take great pride in “collecting” and displaying bonds of various RE projects and participating at different levels of financial support. Solar trough plants in the multi-hundred MW size capacity with molten salt energy storage in California, Arizona, and West Texas can provide a major portion of electric needs. North Dakota has potential to support 1/3 of our nations electric needs in it’s class 4 wind zone areas. There are plenty of suitable proposed wind turbine farms now around the nation to significantly increase our RE if funded. Mid sized hydro-electric has not been used in America to it’s full potential. Following the example of our neighbor, Canada, it would provide a significant increase in percentage of electric production. Developing all three we could provide the majority of our electric and heating needs through renewable energy in a "New New Deal" fashion allowing natural gas for transportation as T. Boone Pickens is working for. Bullet train routes have proven a viable alternative to commercial domestic air service and when powered by electricity provided by RE suppliers America would be in the forefront of world technology. Example, I heard of discussion for a commuter train from Denver to Colorado Springs. Such a route built as a renewable energy project with charter requirement legally requiring to only purchase electricity from available renewable energy sources would be a model example. There are many train routes, city bus systems, and government vehicles that can be converted to run from alternative energy sources and fuels. Jobs created would bolster the economy, lower trade deficit, and strengthen national security. I would take great pride in print outs of bonds with graphics of each project I supported and many other Americans would also. The energy bonds could have tax breaks. BLM lands may be a viable place to start for some projects.

I contacted the US treasury department and was told that the marketing department for savings bonds closed several years ago. I was told there would be problems because savings bonds are at the federal level while the projects will be at the state and local level. I disagree and believe that these can easily be figured out in the way of grants to the state and local level using money from the bonds for those specific projects. I was told to check out auctions on the www.treasurydirect.gov website and found them to not apply to citizens wanting to buy savings bonds to support a cause such as energy independance. I was told by the treasury department to look into CREB (Clean Renewable Energy Bonds). I found CREB to be large scale funding that a citizen would not be able to participate in as a US Treasury Energy Independance Bond would provide. If given the tools to participate directly, the power of the citizens of the United States to help achieve energy independance could not be denied. Americans mean well and the Energy Independance Savings bond program will give citizens the power at their level to make it happen. If marketed through a web page, commercials, and to federal employees the word would get out and participation would spread like wildfire.

Mr. Paul Gipe, a resident of Bakersfield CA, an author of several books about wind energy, and recipient of multiple awards as a pioneer in the industry since the 1970's has put a letter I wrote to Senator Dorgan on this subject as well as an older letter I wrote on wind COOP in JAN07. Thanks for your interest in my design. To answer some of your questions / concerns, first, the safety of this particular vehicle isn't an issue. As it has only 3 wheels, it qualifies under Federal law as a motorcycle, and as such, is much safer than the traditional bike, obviously. This vehicle was never intended to be an all-around answer, simply an attention getter. Go to a shopping mall and ask passersby if they know you can run your car on natural gas, and the overwhelming response is surprise. This vehicle design is intended to address that issue. I'm sure that when I show this operational prototype, I'll be able to generate private funding to develop my follow-on design of a vehicle with more mass-appeal.

Secondly, I've funded this entire project out of my own pocket since its inception, to well over 7 figures. Every nickel of it money that I earned, and chose to not spend on vacations, cars, etc. I've bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment and learned and mastered many new skills to make this happen. The Wright brothers didn't get into the air by counting on votes as to what was the best way to build and airplane. They did their own research, and built what they knew was right. This vintage concept of American individual ingenuity and hard work and delayed pleasures seems to be have been forgotton somehow.

I agree with you that we need to stop looking for a DC facilitator to make the CNG changeover a reality. All the technologies to make this country energy independant have existed for years. Californians were commonly heating domestic water with solar in the 30's, and vehicles have been run in large numbers on propane for almost that long. The government has so far done NOTHING to materially affect America's energy consumption profile, and it's only the cost of petroleum-derived energy that's finally caused a wake-up call. Free enterprise and creativity will solve this problem, if people actually really want it solved, but the existing car companies may go the way of the dinosaurs, because the time to have been preparing for the "now" was many years ago, and like the government, they did almost nothing. W.Engwer

PS. Sorry for the delayed response. I've been travelling for work, my computer crashed, etc. etc. WCE

I have a comment and it may not be so popular. However, enough talking about doing something. Get all the good ideas for CNG... post the top 25. Get everyone to vote on the best one to develop. Let people ask questions to the inventor of the idea so they can defend their positions.

My comment is this for the moment: is that I am tired of the DC attitude. Let's do this thing - whatever it is - by ourselves. Get everyone to vote on the best project with the most promise and build the things - CNG is the smartest practical fuel. Let's get the stations installed, let's get a prototype built. All legit - a petition signed with a vote for the best project. Then we donate. We get others to donate.

Let's quit looking for a facilitator in DC and DO it ourselves. THEN let the auto manufacturers get on board and mass-produce them. BAIL THEMSELVES OUT with some good old-fashioned work and inginuity.

Too much time and energy wasted talking - let's choose and DO! Isn't this what America is - a group of diverse, creative people who need to start to "build" things in America again?? We are become as users and not do-ers......

Wendy, as you're in marketing, I thought you might like to see my group "CNG as SEXY". I'm developing this thing out of my own pocket, because I believe CNG needs a poster child. It's also great fun. I'd like your input. Thanks, WCE

Congress should be paying attention if they would like their popularity rating to go up.

People will not stay as interested if they are not functionally integrated in a project... so with all this enthusiasm - after the election, what will people do? We need to have projects that are hands-on functional goals to attain. A graphic map with stick pins in it with people's names responsible for the accomplishment would be great! 200 people in Butler County, KS got together and decided to install a 100 turbine wind farm - they work hard, get the job done and have a pin on the map. If you click it, you read their story and see how it was done. It saves 50 people asking each other how to do something also.

This type of tracking is motivation for more to follow in their footsteps and it is a thank you to them for their efforts and accomplishment. People would sign up to help on individual projects and have to have actual input with substance to be listed. One could maybe put their contact info so a new person could ask questions if they want to undertake the same type of project.

What do people think of this?
