The next 7 days, Congress is adjourned for Easter Recess and we have a limited window for them to hear directly from you!

Please phone the Members of Hawaii Congressional Delegation (there’s only four) and encourage others in your district to do so also. We’d like to ask them to support and consider co-sponsorship of the energy legislation.
Use phone #’s below

Be sure to identify yourself as a Pickens Plan supporter and a resident of Hawaii, give your Zip Code! (Only if you are)
Ask for an appointment to talk with the Legislator. If you get one, use it to tell them the talking points below. If not tell the staffer the points and request that they be given directly to the Legislator while they’re in Hawaii for recess.

Please report the Member/staff response back to me either by sending me a message as a “friend” or posting a comment on my page.

THE PICKENS VIRTUAL MARCH BEGINS April 1, 2009.

IT’S TIME FOR ACTION!

EMAIL THE LEGISLATORS LISTED BELOW

Tell’em :

YOU’RE A PICKENS PLAN VOLUNTEER FROM HAWAII.

The leadership at the SUMMIT MEETING of the National Clean Energy Project agreed that “Building” The smart grid is the first step on the road to reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

For Hawaii this means building the key element of the HCEI Agreement:
THE SUBMARINE POWER CABLE - TO GRID THE ISLANDS.

TELL THEM TO MAKE THIS PROJECT THEIR # 1 GOAL FOR 2009!

Welcome! Aloha
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement. Look up your local leader from map on home pg.
Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much where the plan stands.
On the home page, click on About The Plan ~ Boone Cam ~ Blog

We need to Push.PickensPlan.com – or “Push” as we like to call it.
Our future really does depend on us at this point in time!
If not now, WHEN? If not you, WHO
? I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

Well as they say (the large lady voiced the end). Neither candidate openly gave his support outright for our plan. Both knew about it and to a degree felt the intense support behind it. It goes back to another old saying, on the political platform be careful how far you put your foot in the door.

There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, Please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
Again Welcome; Tom
Just checkin in. Are you finding the info you need?

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON - - With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.

Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the Main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will see that you are added to the list.

If you answered "YES" to interested in becoming an organizer, there are several things I can recommend. Join the following Groups:
Organizers & Leaders
OnLine Action Army
Guides & Materials for New Members

On the upper right corner of Your Page, click on "States" to visit the Push Pickens Community for your state.

Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PICKENS U has been formed for college alumni and university students to get involved. If you are or know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to help coordinate the pledge drive, please submit names to Pickens U site (found on the Main page). This would look good on a job resume.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) increase our membership nor
2) influence public policy.
If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE.
Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

IDEAS & PROPOSALS FOR PICKENS
I know that many of you have great ideas and proposals that you would like to get in front of Boone's team...
They asked us to have you submit all ideas/proposals in writing to the Pickens Plan at: PO Box 12123 Dallas TX 75225.

PLEASE FRIEND ME so we can keep in touch.

Thanks again for joining this historical effort. WE CAN DO THIS .
