- We are a 63 member Wind advocacy group based in Tampa Florida. We have developed comprehensive plans for action and even developed our own Florida specific turbine. Our page on Facebook lists our members and some of the events we follow. We actively follow all legislation related to Cap and Trade as well as commodities trading.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Our group has similar goals in that we wish to see wind used to reduce GHGs. We also support drill here and drill now as we want to see energy independence in our lifetime.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Our group activities and grass roots efforts may give you a boost.

Hello everyone,
My name is John Osborn. I head the Wind Energy for Florida Group. We are joining with Pickens plan to forward energy independence. Our efforts to convince utilities here in Florida to start using wind power have gotten some push back as they don't want to commit until they are forced to do so. Several have programs that are looking into wind and even testing some off the shelf units. We are aware of their efforts and the timeline is waaaay out. 7-21-09

General John Osborn here. I am your District FL-11 Leader for Pickens Plan. We need YOU more than ever. Our organization has evolved and your role has become very clear. Come to the Pickens Plan website and add yourself to my friend list and also the District Group. Make firm plans to attend our monthly meetings, you will see the Pickens Plan has had new life breathed into it. Bring a friend, we have plenty of seating. We are having a guest speaker Thursday September 10th at 7:30 PM…see Pickens Plan website for maps and additional information. (listed on both the District and Events tabs)
Under my leadership you can have a tangible role in the operation of the district. You will be meeting “Mark Sharpe” of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners at the September meeting. I assure you this will be interesting and informative.
