Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have very little experience with alternative energy, but I totally support the idea. What surprises me is I have heard about alternative fuel sources as far back as 30 years ago. What and who is responsible for stopping the research? We should already be oil free when it comes to fuel sources.
What excites you about this campaign?
This is a great idea, and on the right track. One of the main reasons we are in the situation we are is because we have not put alternatives to use. I would really like to see this idea go forward. I also support the use of solar energy for home energy needs. I am not in favor of drilling off the coast of California. I have seen one too many oil spills, and I am not in favor of higher gas prices or taxes. Let's work with mother nature.
What do you want to do to help?
I will do the best I can to get the word out. I have already emailed everyone in my contact list with the link to this site. I have also contacted my Government Representatives requesting their support of moving forward with the Pickens Plan as well as other renewable sources of energy.
want to reach me? I am usually studying online and have my yahoo messenger on. Try clicking on this to start an IM conversation with me. Be sure to identify yourself as a member of Pickens Plan. Looking forward to talking with you.

Hi Yolanda!
The clock is ticking. Both Thomas Freidman and The Gang of 20 have told us (see DAILY PICKENS) the only way to change America's energy policy is to build this historical, grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. There are less than 75 days until Inauguration Day. We must concentrate on the job at hand. CAN YOU GET 10 signed pledges faxed in asap? Many hands make light work.
The current generation of electric cars, including hybrids like the Prius, use conventional lead-acid batteries to store electricity. This does indeed introduce the problems of battery replacement and disposal as well as those of the environmental effects of lead and zinc mining and refining.
Fuel cells use an entirely different energy storage mechanism that doesn't require the use of metals like lead and zinc. Unfortunately, fuel cell technology is still not sufficiently mature - in terms of cost, performance or reliability - to use in cars.
So in the near term we have to decide which of the currently available technologies makes the most sense. Rather than build a fleet of lead-acid battery powered cars, I think we ought to pursue Mr. Pickens' scheme of converting the existing fleet to run on natural gas. This will get us through the next 5 to 10 years while fuel cell technology is improved.
Please read my latest blog... HOW TO TURN A PLEDGE INTO A PETITION - everyone understands petitions. This is the help we need to build this army. We can not let this narrowing window of opportunity slip by. When will we ever get a chance like this to really effect change again? I hope you can help. If you get 100 signatures, let me know, it would an honor to invite you into the 100CLUB.
I was able to get 300+ in the first 4 days. It is an easy ask - Boone has done the hard work. Everyone wants to get off of foreign oil. We are creating a paradigm shift- a completely new way of thinking - about energy in this country. We need more support. ARE YOU IN?
Mom, thanks for the info that you forwarded to me. I am not too far from the place that the July meeting was held at. I will go onto that members page to see if there is anything else listed for future meetings in this area. xoxoxoxo, me
Mom, I am going to look into this bill they are voting on right now, I want to see what part of renewable energy is really listed. I also want to see what part of so called tax breaks are added for having the renewable energy as that one Rep was talking about. Love you, Chrissy

Hello Yolanda, thank you for joining my new group 'PICKens Me! ~Jobs! It is a good place to start. I launched this new group on Saturday, and now working to attract employers and people seeking new opportunities.
I wish you all the best, if I can be of help...don't hesitate to ask.
Its not hard when you keep on top of new developments in Pickens Plan and are excited about it. Just talk to people, these days the energy situation will come up anyway. I printed out some fliers from the page link above to help.

I understand your pain in understanding the CA propositions on energy, so confusing. You may want to check out our post about the propositions that are going to be on the ballot.
