Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
On the conservation side I have developed efficient heat recovery ventilation systems and have hands-on experience with bio-gas production. My background is in franchise marketing. I have a strong understanding of global environmental problems and have formed an association to offer a free one- day education to all politicians and people who call themselves environmentalists.
What excites you about this campaign?
The size of the project is impressive. I believe that significant growth in any alternative energy will precipitate dramatic adjustments to the economy, and effectively change the social structure of our society.
What do you want to do to help?
I want to make as many people as possible aware of the necessity to do something, and I would like to contribute to corrective activities. The rest of the world has a vested interest in what the U.S. does.

Who do we blame now ?

From an administrative point of veiw, if we would like to hold any Government responsible for the economy, we have to give them the tools to control that economy.

Our Government alone should have the power and responsibility to regulate the amount of money in circulation and the interest rate charged to citizens.

A legislated rate of interest would ensure equal treatment for all citizens using dollars of that country.

What we have now treats money as a commodity… Continue

What is the Demonstration Sustainable Neighborhood?

VPO is currently at work marshalling the support, expertise and resources necessary to create a demonstration sustainable neighborhood (DSN) for the post-peak-oil period – what VPO member Jon Cooksey semi-whimsically calls a Kunstler Village, after James Kunstler, the peak oil writer. Entirely off the grid, graywater system recycling all wastewater and sewage, everyone growing their own food to extent possible, possibly doing co-op transportation, etc. The works.

Clearly, as a… Continue

There is no such thing as a 'free market'.

Every time there is an exchange of goods and services, outside of the trades defined as 'barter', there is an equal and opposite exchange of money. The 'free market' of goods and services can not exist alone without the 'free market' of money, and money is not free. It is a commodity that is essential to the functioning of any economy and it is an oligopoly (like oil) that is manufactured, controlled and priced by cartels of bankers. What bankers do would be called price fixing in any other… Continue

Jambo Chris,

Love and Christian greetings to you. i went and checked on the cost of a small solar powered generator from china. And yes, an American friend of mine bought me a mini laptop. I have one now....no more borrowing!!!lol

I am impressed...My ambitions were squelched and I am in he process of recovering losses associated with that. My goal started as a means to drive my strategy, and it has gotten attention.

The office does not impress me as our ancestory has been there. It is the thill of the kill and to do something bigger than Texas and at the same time make that dream a reality.

I agree with your assessment of government and business adjusting.

And yes I had and have ambitions, those are pending.

I ran for Congress in 2000 because I was bored and saw an opportunity to multitask on a variety of issues, and hopefully mitigate some extraordinary events. That did not work out.

My main goal here was to bring a viable plan to the table as so far I see none.

There is no Walter Mitty here, I don't have a Billion to run a viable campaign, but one never knows with the discontent and lack of vision we see.

I enjoyed the interplay and wish you great success.

First, your assumptions are flawed. Your cost factors and thinking is a distribution system. I repeat, my strategy is a decentralized system where every home and business has its own power supply.

If it were up to government and business they would have distribution lines running Freon to our refrigerators. We don't need them per se and this antiquated technology will be eliminated over the transition period.

Under my plan this is a significant source of revenue from recycling and manufacturing of new products. I might add built here in the USA, not China.

I agree with Adam Smith that we have to protect our Treasury, economy, the worker, and our standard of living from unfair competition. That I will address later...

As you are a follower of Milton Friedman you understand the velocity of cash and the cash to cash cycle. The more cash that touches everyones hands the faster the cash to cash cycle, business. When he states that it infer here, not in China or parts unknown, as that provides little if any benefit here.

We have seen too much cherry picking by Politicians and Economists.

Second, for example, the cost of converting a Porche 911 to EV for the equipment at retail is around 15,0i00. The cost of a new motor, muffler system, radiator, gas tank and related electronics at retail is greater. Now factor in the auto industry is not paying retail but cost, which is far less and one can reasonably conclude that the cost of EV is less not more, and I have had that debate with a dealer. Note compacts equipment cost at retail is as low as $3,000. I used the Porsche 911 as that is the market niche my client was in.

There response was they had to recoup R&D. However, they have no R&D as this is existing technology and all they did was to encorporate it in the design.

One of my strategies for newer model used cars was that we could convert using the salvage value to cover the labor cost. At that time the newer model used car pricing at wholesale was far less due to the higher gas prices. In essence, converting these used cars and selling as the lean green machines with atleast 100 mile range. Given Tesla is getting 250 and 300 mile range on its Roadster and S the real question is why aren't the US auto makers able to achieve this? They are using the same technology.

I tried to get a dealer to do this only to find he was threatened by the auto industry? Can't imagine why...

Having said that, your assumptions do not factor in a decentralized approach to Solar and Green technology, nor the future benefit and new businesses to come, nor the tax revenues from normal employment and new businesses stemming from recycling, which will foster the demand for housing.

By creating the employment we also create the demand for housing. This is another factor you do not factored into your assumptions.

Here again, by creating the demand we stabalize the housing FMV at whatever that will be. Further mitigating the loss associated with the collapse of the housing industry.

As I stated in a speech in 2000 when I ran for the US Congress when railed for being in the construction industry as being controlling. As follows:

When you are driving down the street and you see a residential community, stip store, or Mall being built, you are looking at 3, 5, 30, or 100 Million Dollars immediate economic impact going into the market area. We employ people from all socioeconomic strata. From Architects, Engineers, Attorneys, Accountants and the associated administrative personnel, to labor and carpenters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, brick masons, dry wallers, and all the associated and ancillary costs such as offices, warehouses, tranportation, and the demand for services such as beauticians, French Cafes, etc.

In essence, construction brings a significant economic impact and jobs to an area.

so, I am just touching on some of the benefits of my plan that emcompass many areas not factored into your assumptions.

Again, your assumptions do not factor in a decentralized approach, nor the benefits from employment, tax gains, new business, stabalizing the housing industry, etc. etc. etc.

I will not elaborate any further except to say we have to work out a bankruptcy and that requires creativity and not retrenching to back down to profit maximization. Weare not working out one company, which requires that. Here we have an additional opportunity to drive through this loss range to greater profitability, not exponential increases in poverty.

First the homeowners and business owners will reduce the demand over time as this is implemented. Yes.

What you are not factoring in is a high speed Mag Lev interstate system that at present draws large amounts of energy.Together with what you refer to as the heavy business users, which there are few. I invision nuclear plant to drive those needs via the Main distribution lines. And yes during this transition period there will be need to subsidize such efforts. This will be cured through R&D and subsidies if needed.

The main point is that with the combination of we will gain a significant competitive advantage in the global Market place through the reduction in transporation and energy cost.

Realizing that this would take 15 to 20 years to convert there is ample time to address the cost factor on the Mag Lev and those few heavy industries that require what you describe as huge energy needs.

Additionally, I am not adverse to using and incorporating other forms of green energy, as long as it is decentralized and does not use distribution lines that require the Congress to upgrade its outdated energy grid at a cost of over One Trillion. The deferred maintenance is a killer.

You see in my thinking I wish to maximize all potential sources of revenue. For example, at some point in time during the transition the raising of the bird pirches would be required and long over due. I can only guesstimate the Trillions of Dollars hanging from telephone poles nationwide of viable steel, cooper, and aluminum that can be recycled and remanufactured into viable products. Hence, here to you are not factoring in the long term gains and competitive advantages.

In essence, we cannot just look at the marginal cost of implementing, but also have to factor in the revenues to come from future events and new business ventures required.

Chris I enjoyed reading your dissertation of negatives, you must be from the Pile it Higher and Deeper club. I mean that as a joke. Dont' take offense.

The basic concept of solar is very simple and the array or number of batteries in the back up system are based on statistical inclement wheather in the area. My approach is to recognize the marginal cost of a decentralized system is less than than Nuclear etc, and that has been demonstrated. The spin doctors use a distribution system approach, centralized, in arriving at their numbers.
