Thank you Jay. Yesterday I thought that the Banks had become the new world Government because they control the money/power that drives the fossil fuel economy. While reading your post I had a few insights (I guess that is the word) and realized t...

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
On the conservation side I have developed efficient heat recovery ventilation systems and have hands-on experience with bio-gas production. My background is in franchise marketing. I have a strong understanding of global environmental problems and have formed an association to offer a free one- day education to all politicians and people who call themselves environmentalists.
What excites you about this campaign?
The size of the project is impressive. I believe that significant growth in any alternative energy will precipitate dramatic adjustments to the economy, and effectively change the social structure of our society.
What do you want to do to help?
I want to make as many people as possible aware of the necessity to do something, and I would like to contribute to corrective activities. The rest of the world has a vested interest in what the U.S. does.

What is the Demonstration Sustainable Neighborhood?

VPO is currently at work marshalling the support, expertise and resources necessary to create a demonstration sustainable neighborhood (DSN) for the post-peak-oil period – what VPO member Jon Cooksey semi-whimsically calls a Kunstler Village, after James Kunstler, the peak oil writer. Entirely off the grid, graywater system recycling all wastewater and sewage, everyone growing their own food to extent possible, possibly doing co-op transportation, etc. The works.
Clearly, as a demonstration proj… Continue

There is no such thing as a 'free market'.

Every time there is an exchange of goods and services, outside of the trades defined as 'barter', there is an equal and opposite exchange of money. The 'free market' of goods and services can not exist alone without the 'free market' of money, and money is not free. It is a commodity that is essential to the functioning of any economy and it is an oligopoly (like oil) that is manufactured, controlled and priced by cartels of bankers. What bankers do would be called price fixing in any other indu… Continue

How to be Recognized as an Inventor

Send your idea to Michael of the 'Inventions R US Group and within 90 days you will get a reply from the BG Consulting Group.
I received my answer from Bernard Garnier of BG Consulting announcing that as of 1 Jan 2009 BG will be concentrating their efforts on "US project by US company or US citizens".

Then the next thing you have to do is publish on the internet.

I punched the ends out pop cans and using a 2x3 steel stud to align them glued them together with silicone to form tubes about 7 ft… Continue

Simplified Economics

Fundamental knowledge to run a sustainable economy

In every negotiation or trade transaction there are 3 elements - Value – Wealth – Power.

These 3 elements (domains) masquerade as one another in much the same way as a word may be either – subject – object – verb in a sentence. Generally speaking Value is the subject of a transaction, Wealth is the object, and Power is the verb (force) that drives the bargain.

To identify the different elements in a transaction one must ask – who gets what? -… Continue

Free Environmental Education

The world has 32 billion acres of bio-productive land and over 6 billion people so we only have 5.3 acres per person which we share (or perhaps should share) with all the other subspecies. The problem is that North Americans use 24 acres per person, Chinese 4 and Indians 1.9 acres per person. On a global level each human uses 6.9 acres which is obviously not sustainable.
The solution to problems of environmental degradation and resource depletion will not be solved by one person with one idea. W… Continue

Yes, I do. Use mylar... It is very strong, radiated reflected energy well and is available in long rolls and is easy to be melted into the shape/shapes you need to make a vent or collector. I am very surprised others are not using it, since it does not absorb heat and dispells wind without drag...Let me know if it pans out for you...Gregor

Excuse me for beeing so late, although I often get a buzz out of it...I am not re-employed yet, but I am working on it. The company "Rancher's Life-style Living" wants to set up office in several states and Oklahoma is definitely one that could gain dramatically from a Solar company that already has a financing component incorporated in their system/business plan design. But I do not exactly like the marketing prospects for the name, whcih is holding me back from a firm commitment, other than a training mission of one week in West Texas. I will learn how to install and refit residential wind turbines and a set of three solar arrays on a roof. That qualifies me as being trained to install systems on my own, excluding the final hookups that must be done by either a grid electrician or a qualified independent contractor electrician. That is another area that troubles me, because the states have not addressed clearly enough what qualifies one to install and connect grid tied systems, other than the requirement of an electrician, using our National Electrical Code system to be the overall protective document for validation, for Tax purposes. To me, we should rewrite a lot of regulations so that installers are also qualified to connect, both for convenience, and also for safety in the long term, since once
it is installed, it might need repair, and that reduces costs to have them rolled into one easy process. But what do I know? Thanks for keeping in communication. Hope you are succeeding in your efforts too! Gregor to the head frog...

Hi Chris,

Nice Froggie! Kinda knowing, kinda skeptical too. We're as close as we've ever been. I've got orders coming in from overseas, and !@#$#% bankers that want me to concentrate on the domestic markets. And I get 6 calls a day from "Bud Fox" (Charlie Sheen, Wall Street)... I can't even restrain myself when they call anymore.

Lou, use the kiss principle, USE whatever you have. If you spend your finite time looking at things that should OR could change from what you have on hand in an existing dwelling, you will never do anything.
The only thing you have of any value is the time you have left! Quit postulating what else might work better as what you have currently is what you need to work with. As an example, I looked out my kitchen window from 1981 until 1993 until a hours walk on a piece of property, for sale, west of our home on a steeply sloped building site.. I saw and understood in that” hour” an “IDEA” to create a means of receiving $750,000 in tax free profit in the next three years. USE what you have and be aware of your limited time. Anachronism, Out of its time and place.

Lou, I read your comments above this comment section about "Inventions R US" group and I have 125 patents issued world wide". Having a patent is not an indication it will produce money or any person or company will want your idea. BE careful wasting money on the "Patent" process. You need to realize that everything created has no value "Until" you find a person or group whom will actually pay to use your patent. A 1% change can create a NEW Patent from any existing patent.

Hi Lou, (Sunday July 9th, 2009) You need to comprehend the "Simple Side of Heating & Cooling". In solar heating or cooling, as I have designed follows the principle of the "Kiss Principle","Keep It Simple". ALL my projects use the attic space created in 90% of homes built in the USA and Canada. Your attic space, above your interior rooms ceiling is your complete system. Your attic automatically creates enough heat to furnish 125% of your heat for normal 72 plus temperature in your home. The attic space also serves as your "Cooling" cycle, which occurs every night when the sun sets.
You need to keep it simple and avoid the hype to spend money on complicated systems and their cost related or the need for other services". The first and second passive systems system's created were located in Burlington and Bellingham Washington. The climate is usually 20 degrees in winter and 85 to 95 degrees in the balance of the year. THE first time my Passive Solar Heating System” occurred on December 23, 1984. The outside temperature was 23 degrees, snowing and NO SUN SHINE as it was SNOWING and the roof was covered with “3” of snow. When the system first operated, I was sweeping the inside concrete floor and heard the circulation fan turn on. I entered the furnace room, as shown on my site, and felt warm air coming out of the heating duct on the first floor. I went to the remote temperature sensor and turned the dial to a higher setting, namely 70 degrees, and the fan stopped. I turned it back to 68 degrees and the fan started and produced “Heated Air of 68 degrees using a laser temperature sensor to sense the air temperature..
NOW I went outside and confirmed that the temperature outside was 23 degrees and could not believe what was happening, as I had not gone outside since 8:00 am and there are no outside windows to see the outside conditions. This “Expense” passive solar heating system, including the remote sensor, 40’ of telephone wire, and the time it took to connect the adjustable control sensor cost $65 in 1984. This first system has furnished 95% of all heating since 1985. This building was 55’ wide, 95’ long and 27 feet high.
The building cubic space is the same as 10, 2200 square foot homes. In my humble opinion it makes since to spend $100 on equipment and four hours time to save $62,000 thousand in the last 25 years (I saved $6.84 per day for 25 years.) IF you want to “COOL” your building, as the project I built in Vancouver, Wash, in 1988, you simply dump the heat from the attic space during the hot days “at night” and let the “heated” air exit the attic, which sucks in the cool air at 20 feet above the ground at night. You automatically shut the roof vent when your sensors indicate the attic is now full of cooler air and simply suck this cold air into your living space. IF this makes sense to you, “DO IT” and you will create money for your self without spending money on some special system that you have never created and your cost repays itself in the next 60 days?? Sincerely, Anachronism
