Happy New Year dale,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me dale, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
I am looking for your help. I need your honest opinion about a fund raiser I just came across. In part it offers green electricity to power homes using wind.. Could you let me know what you think of it please?
This fund raising method can save members or supporters up to 30% on their utility bills each month. Then the church, sports team, non profit, or community group collects a portion of what each member pays EVERY MONTH on their LOWER utility bills. So this fund raiser keeps the money flow going each month, as long as members keep paying their lower utility bill. Savings for members can be up to $1,000 a year.
There is no cost for members or supporters; they just save money and get a free vacation certificate plus receive travel reward points too, while raising money for your favorite cause. This seems to be a WIN WIN WIN solution... but what do you think?
As an option members can also support a clean environment by signing up for green electricity that is generated by wind. Churches are using this now to raise funds for missionary work, feeding the homeless, etc.
I am on the board of the Homeless Housing Coalition in my area and I wish we had access to this program in our area. I think this is available in your area, lucky you. Add me as a friend, and let me know what you think of it.

Hi Dale……thank you for joining! Education is the key to knowledge, but where do we start? After you familiarize yourself with the information at this website, a wealth of additional information is available. We can look to Europe as our inspirational model for developing sustainable renewable energy. Countries like Denmark, Germany and Spain lead the way in this effort and have been there for the past 10-20 years - even more. Germany’s commitment through cooperatives and local municipalities has installed 19,000+ wind turbines and millions of solar collectors, both for solar hot water and electricity feeding the power grid.
The onshore and offshore installation of wind turbines in Denmark and Germany are producing 20% of all their electrical needs; in Spain, as much as 38% (please see examples in the photos on my page). We are 10 years behind in implementation compared to these countries!
I mention these examples to give us a direction for inspiration and point to where we could be heading with the Pickens Plan. The technology is already there and we do not have to reinvent the wheel. These are a few of the websites I would suggest you visit to see what others around the world have done and are doing:
1) The Solar Village – Freiburg, Germany. See: http://www.thesolarvillage.com/
Watch the video in the upper left corner of the page. It tells a great story.
2) The Folkecenter for Renewable Energy – Denmark.
See: http://www.folkecenter.net/gb/overview/publications/
Under VARIOUS, read: The transition from Fossil Fuels to the Renewable Energies
The whole website is excellent and you could spend hours there.
3) Google: Samso, Denmark. This is an island off the coast of Denmark that is completely self-sustaining. http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/07/07/080707fa_fact_kolbert
4) Read the article written by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. titled: “Global Warming: A Real Solution”
Here are a few great videos to see: “Saved by the Sun” a PBS NOVA video, and “A Crude Awakening” by Basil Gemlpke, et al. Americans need to mobilize and pressure our government representatives both on the state and national level. The Pickens Plan is a good place to foster discussion and share ideas and PUSH this plan! We can all share in this vital common cause. Good luck in your quest for a better more secure America….. Please ask 5 of your friends to join the “PLAN”……> Lee Ewald
