I called home to Kansas to talk to my brother. He said he sees everyday big turbines on the highway traveling toward Wichita. Not sure where they are going but someone is getting alot of turbines in central or western Kansas.

Gas prices in Venezuela

My sister left for Venezuela last week. She will be teaching art K-12 in a private school there. She just e-mailed me and said that a bottle of water is more expensive than filling your tank there. She said one of the teachers just filled her tank for $4.00

Greensburg Kansas Windmills

There is a TV show on Planet Green about a town called Greensburg Ks. It was hit by an EF5 tornado last year that destroyed 95% of the town. They are building back green and are putting up a windmill farm outside of town. The show is just getting to that part. If your interested in Kansas and windmills its a great show. I've been following if because I lived my whole life in Kansas up till last year when I moved to L.A. Ca.

Happy New Year evramos,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me evramos, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

'Green-collar' jobs a growth area, U.S. group says

Companies are stepping up their environmental initiatives, and that may mean a boom in "green-collar" jobs.

A recent forecast by the American Solar Energy Society found that renewable energy and energy-efficient industries were responsible for the creation of nearly 8.5 million jobs in 2006, and by 2030 that number is expected to reach 40 million.

Colleges and universities are taking notice, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., a job placement consulting group.

Many have introduced specialized degree programs in eco-commerce, environmental accounting, green and social marketing, and ecological economics.

"The demand for 'green-collar' jobs is really exploding, especially as the cost of energy continues to climb," said John Challenger, the group's chief executive. "Students need to start thinking about developing skills that will give them an edge for these types of careers that did not even exist until recently."

Popular jobs include urban planners, forestry professionals and environmental lawyers, Challenger said. There is also a growing demand for architects and engineers with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit.

Thank you for joining Picken's Plan!
Here's how you can help.

PLEASE email the Pickens Plan video to everyone you know. www.pickensplan.com. Ask them to join. Ask them to pass it along. Time is of the essence. If every member had 10 friends join today, we could put the number of members over 1 million very quickly!

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.

So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done.

Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. One person can make a difference.

We added 2,000 new members yesterday. It should be 10 times that. We need your help.

If you know someone in the press- get them to cover this.
If you know someone who blogs- get them to cover this.
If you can write to a Congressman/woman- get them to understand this.
If you know someone who is in the public eye- ask them to support this.
If you can put a downloadable flyer in your business or car window, please do.

Let me know how it goes. It really all boils down to how many folks we can get to JOIN this effort. Please friend me if you like.
Thanks,
Kim
