Venezuela announces nationwide energy rationing

CARACAS, Venezuela – Venezuela's government imposed rolling blackouts of up to four hours every other day throughout the country on Tuesday to combat an energy crisis.

President Hugo Chavez has said rationing is necessary to prevent water levels in Guri Dam — the cornerstone of Venezuela's energy system — from falling to critical lows and causing a widespread power collapse. Drought has cut the flow of water into the dam, which feeds three… Continue

China scraps limits on foreign wind turbine parts

Tue Jan 12, 3:37 am ET

BEIJING (AFP) – China has scrapped restrictions on the use of foreign parts in wind power turbines, state media reported, as the nation seeks access to more advanced technology to meet its clean energy targets.

The decision by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) means wind farms in China no longer have to source at least 70 percent of turbine parts from the domestic market, the China Business News said Monday.

The restrictions… Continue

Hi!

Can you help us spread the word?

I've just started getting involved in a non-profit website (http://www.windturbines.net/) solely focused on wind turbines and how they can help. We've a social network for wind turbine enthusiasts and a directory where businesses connected in wind energy can post their business info and site.

If you have any advice on how to spread the word out about our site, it would be a great help.

Thanks!

Frances

Green energy
Alternative energies sources are not, and option anymore, rather than a need, my issue is to broadcast information world wide to inform eveybody about the new way of living in planet earth.

Hi again German

Please read my latest blog... HOW TO TURN A PLEDGE INTO A PETITION - everyone understands petitions. This is the help we need to build this army. We can not let this narrowing window of opportunity slip by. When will we ever get a chance like this to really effect change again? I hope you can help. If you get 100 signatures, let me know, it would an honor to invite you into the 100CLUB.

I was able to get 300+ in the first 4 days. It is an easy ask - Boone has done the hard work. Everyone wants to get off of foreign oil. We are creating a paradigm shift- a completely new way of thinking - about energy in this country. We need more support. ARE YOU IN?

Best
Kim
