How T. Boone Pickens and The "Pickens Plan" Could Make You Wealthy By Investing in Green Stocks
T. Boone Pickens owns 40% of a company called Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (NASDAQ:CLNE). This is a company that provides natural gas for vehicle fleets in the U.S. and Canada. CLNE designs, builds, finances, and operates the fueling stations.
T. Boone Pickens owns 12% of Westport Innovations, Inc. (NASDAQ:WPRT) a leading developer of environmental technologies that enable vehicles to operate on clean-burning alternative fuels.
WRPT works with global automotive leaders such as Cummins Inc., Ford, and BMW to incorporate their technologies into leading manufacturers engines and to explore future commercial opportunities for clean vehicles.
Pickens new company, Mesa Water, has been buying up ground water rights in Roberts County, Texas - 200,000 acres in all. He says that over a 30-year period, he expects to make more than $1 billion on his investment of $75 million.
Many others are coming to the realization that water is too cheap. Hence, water rights are a great buy today.
As an individual investor, you cant trade water rights very easily. But you can invest in a company that owns almost as much water as Pickens does in actuality, the acre feet that this Company owns are more valuable than what Pickens purchased.
PICO Holdings, Inc., (NASDAQ:PICO) together with its subsidiaries, engages in the ownership and development of real estate properties. It owns land and the related mineral rights and water rights in Nevada. The company is involved in water resource development business, such as developing new sources of water for water utilities, municipalities, developers, or industrial users. In addition, PICO Holdings engages in the acquisition and financing of businesses. It operates in the United States and Europe. The company was founded in 1981 and is based in La Jolla, California.
T. Boone Pickens thinks he'll earn $1 billion on his $76 million investment - or basically 13 times his money. PICO - already in this business, with substantial expertise and a portfolio of more valuable water rights - could do even better.

Jay,
TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must implement drastic efficiency improvement.
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page to learn more about ETT
Please take a look at the executive summary on my page. We are in the process of establishing a nonprofit innovation laboratory in Houston Texas dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue technology careers and to the development of the next-generation of strategic technologies to meet our current global challenges. Alternative energy is a major focus of our program.
Right now, we are in need of people willing to sponsor our efforts or to finding sponsorship for us.
We believe this can be the beginning of an effort that can spread to other areas of the country and create a critical mass of new technology ideas and innovative technologists to meet the challenges.
Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
Jay
I appreciate the invite but I do not play in the market and never will, I put my money in land.
I like the stirring of the populace that Mr. Boone is creating and his plan although not new technology is admirible however I hope all will do their homework carefully before jumping on the first bandwagon that comes around the corner. Remember this man is a busniess man with an agenda and all should fully understand it before investing.
I have been reading a lot of the discussions (here and elsewhere) and finding although most seem to care about doing something most have no clue where to start and come to the table with a lot of consecptions they have formed based on other conceptions of government, media, and other carefully crafted propoganda campaigns and have not done any real research into the issues at hand.
If you watched the national news last night Mr. Pickens has already influenced the Texas government to start work on the project to build the transmission line for his wind farms, the bottom line is he could never buy up all the land in his path to accomplish this so he needed the power of condemnation for the public good to get there. He did not fall of the turnip truck yesterday.
He is also into other ventures aparently thet go hand in hand with this one such as bringing water to his part of the state from the panhandle so there is another right of way Hmmm.
I will help when I can but only after all the facts are known.
