- It's a plan! Pickens is doing something about a pressing issue that has demanded attention for a long, long time. It is important to lessen our reliance on foreign oil. We are facing an energy crisis that will affect most aspects of our daily lives. Developing renewable sources is imperative and long overdue. I am thrilled to see the number of people that have voiced their support and desire to contribute to a solution for our energy problem.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Become more informed, help share relevant information (education), participate in discussions and do everything I can to further our use of clean, sustainable, domestic energy resources to ease our current energy crisis and provide for our future energy needs. Our economy depends on solving our energy problem, our health depends on it, and our ability to enjoy a lifestyle that many take for granted depends on it. I would like to leave my children a world and society that is better than the one we find ourselves with now. I believe that each individual needs to take personal ownership and do what they can to work toward a solution. Even something as simple as turning off a light that is not being used will help.

CAFE standards should be based on actual fuel costs, not $2.04-$3.37 per gallon of gasoline through 2020

Basically, the US Dept of Transportation is basing their CAFE recommendations on a projected gasoline price of $2.04 to $3.37 per gallon through 2020. Mackey's bill requests that the CAFE decisions be based on a cost per gallon of gasoline that is not less than the estimated maximum cost to consumers.

We have petitions! "THE PLEDGE" is on the main page.
I think this is the very best tool we could ask for. It is so much easier to get someone to sign a petition than to go online and join the plan as a member.
I have been test driving it for a few days and got 200 signatures rather eaasily. Most folks had seen the ads or seen Boone on the news. Most were eager to sign it and strongly support it. A few wanted to get more info- I handed them a business card with the website. Very few said no (2 or 3).
I hope you can ask all your "friends" to download a bunch of PLEDGES and fax them back to the office ASAP. THIS IS HOW WE BUILD AN ARMY much faster. Millions of signatures.
