Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Being a trucker I know bio fuels where not introduced properly as a alt fuel . Feed corn is a poor choice for BFs do to the fact that it is exspensive to refine into a fuel and takes just as much energy to refine . Not to mention the unthought out impact on livestock feed ind. and food costs to the consumer ,and ag land usage.
What excites you about this campaign?
The fact that someone ind . related has stepped foward and spoke up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What do you want to do to help?
To help devise a plan to dethrone the grip of the foreign oil lobby wich controls congress and bring the needs of the people to the fore front . To also stop all foreign nationalist from lobbying in any or all of our afairs .This is our country not theres. Any member of congress previous and present should be investigated for treasonist acts for not acting in this countries best interest. Pickensplan+drill here drill now=nobody bothers U$

TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must focus on drastic efficiency improvement.
Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) is a patented technology where travel occurs without air friction or rolling resistance (like “Space Travel on Earth”); ETT can accomplish 50 times more transportation per kWh (or carbon credit) than electric cars or trains. ETT is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric so it can make maximum use of wind or PV power. I invite you to visit my page to learn more about ETT

Its a good discussion to have, at least people are talking, at least people are thinking... and things are starting to get done (i see more solar panels and more efficient cars and the public transportation is more crowded too)

The diverse views of people on this page all have a few things in common.

Energy Independance, Decentralization, and Diversification... economic issues (stop sending our $ to countries who dont like us) and a security issue as well.

We can agree that its about damn time we brought it into the table nationally as an issue we NEED to be aware of.

I agree with you on alot of things... except the drill here drill now.

What about the 68 MILLION acres of PROVEN land the oil companies already have leased and havent drilled on? (and the Dem. sponsored, R. shot-down bill to make those leases "use it or lose it")

What about the fact that all the oil in ANWR would make a $0.02/gallon difference in oil prices?

What about the fact that that difference wouldnt even be seen until 2018?

Sorry... I guess "Drill Here Drill Now Pay Less" is just catchier. Pesky facts and their complicated wording...

At least most of us can disagree without being disagreeable. Stay involved and stay informed.

Here is an interesting article of big rigs being converted to natural gas in Australia. The argument sounds a lot like the Pickens Plan.

John-- I am in the restaurant business--- virtually everything has increased in price. Partly because of Ethanol --- corn production-- and of course partly for transportation fuel increases. Together many items have doubled and even tripled in cost.

Hi Joe,
I totally agree with you on the use of corn as a poor bio fuel. I was raised on a farm and corn prices at the time if you fed livestock were a determining factor in making it or going broke. I also was a trucker, did my 30 yrs @ Consolidated Freightways ,on the dock. This is a very interesting org. Gives room for lots of discussion. Some not worth responding to, but a platform for voices to be heard and ideas to be exchanged. It'll be interesting to see the outcome !
