- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I was in Brazil for a vacation last year. I talked with a cab driver and he explained how all Rio taxis have to use natural gas when they get within 10 miles of Rio. This regulation has really reduced smog. I also saw a TV show that explained how Brazil imports no foreign oil, but uses sugar cane leaves and other would-be waste products to distill petroleum. also, my friend and I were intrigued about signs at the Brazilian gas stations that said "alcool" and we didn't know how cars could run on alcohol. It turned out that the word alcool in Brazilian Portuguese means the fuel created from the sugar cane leaves.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I am just sick and tired of being held hostage to the oil-exporting countries. I am probably not the first person to say this, but if we can send a man to the moon, we can make our own energy. We need something on the scale of the Manhattan project, and clearly Washington isn't interested. Besides, T. Boone Pickens has money and intelligence and isn't interested in getting re-elected!

- not sure - will have to do more research.
