Hi Nancy,

There are many tax benefits to converting/purchasing a CNG vehicle and/or refueling station.
Refer to for refueling:
http://www.fuelmaker.com/
for refueling options. I opted for the FMQ-36 over the Phil since the maintenance was lest costly and they can rebuild the FMQ on site where as the Phil needs to be sent back to Fuelmaker. The tax savings are really where you save. You can get up to $6000 in Oregon ($4000 fed, $2000 Ore) and possibly deduct 50% of the refueler if you have a business in Oregon.

Thanks to your commitment to making PickensPlan work!

Nancy: Some of the companies in Utah have convertered their fleet of small trucks to use CNG, but I do not know of any stations that offer it to individuals for cars. If I find out differently, I will let you know. Tx Bob

I'm in Tennessee. The local gas company has a pump, cost about $30K I was told. You get about 1/3 the range for a feasible tank. I don't think we're ready unless the compression can be ecomomically installed on the vehicle. I would expect that an external tank is a viable option. It could be mounted on top of the vehicle, exchanged like propane tanks, etc. Your best bet on getting the vehicle modified is to work with Volkswagen and perhaps Neil Young's electric car development engineer in Wichita. The tank design is important in terms of size, weight, safety, convience, etc. Larger allows a lower pressure but the bulk creates some issues with how a conventional car is suspose to look. If you run across someone who wants to brainstorm the tank idea, send them my way.

Howdy, sounds like you actually have good focus on getting something done. I guess I have too many irons in the fire to get one thing fully accomplished. It's handed down by my father. I'll check in on your page here to see about any progress you get with CNG via your home gas supply.

Hi Nancy,
Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help.

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES -
the creators of this site have given us the ability, with little effort, to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. PLEASE GO TO "THE PLEDGE" (at the very top of this page on the blue header). On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue, and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE, get them signed and faxed back to Boone. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let Kim Anderson know when you are done and she will add you to the list.

YOU CAN HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who will certainly try to derail this historic effort.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

FOR MORE INFORMATION
Check out Pickens "August Call to Action"- for a course of action! Here is an informative video "Topeka, Kansas Town Hall Meeting":

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

Feel free to add me as a friend and ask any questions you have about the plan or navigation of the site.

Thanks again for joining this historical effort. WE CAN DO THIS
