Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I work for an engineering consulting firm and one of our electric utility clients is currently erecting a wind farm. I am the project coordinator for this specific project that began as a feasibility study and quickly grew legs into procurement and installation. The project is exciting and ground breaking and it makes me feel as if I'm part of something bigger than myself - that I'm making a contribution to the earth and to our country
What excites you about this campaign?
It's realistic, it's within reach and it will help Mother Earth for generations to come. Overall, my "profile pix" of my children is the #1 reason why I want this...for them and their future.
What do you want to do to help?
Talk, group, pressure, fight tooth and nail...

Please note the change of venue! Pickens Planners Unite at the City Hall Council chambers at 1 pm on Friday, November 7 for discussion on reducing our dependency on foreign oil. Speakers on various topics will be coordinated by Chris Schneider. Locate his Pickens Plan page in La Crosse, Wisconsin search. Consider joining the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle group as well.
I will be giving a presentation on CNG vehicles in Jefferson on the morning of November 7. I would like to set up a gathering of Pickens Plan supporters in the early afternoon to discuss reducing oil dependency. Would you be able to be involved in Jefferson? Do you know other people that should be involved? Would you like 10 minutes to talk about wind?
Thanks,
Chris Schneider

Sarah,
Thanks for becoming involved with the Pickens Plan.
Pickens Plan is helping Americans see the light when it comes to transportation using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). I am envious of your proximity to CNG refueling in Milton. I refueled my 2007 Honda Civic GX (CNG) at ANGI on Plumb Street. It is so easy for someone in you area to get involved in the Pickens Plan transportation solution.
We need to work on our movement toward solar and wind for home power as well. And I will be happy to let you know about events in your area that support these efforts. Are you aware of the MREA Energy Fair near Stevens Point in June?
Thanks,
Chris Schneider

I'm in the Navy, and work as a aircrew survival equipment tech. That means I work on all the gear that a pilot wears (flight suits, helmet, etc) and survival gear they need if they have to punch out. So, nearly nothing that translates into a job in the civilian world! Luckily, after 14 years of this, most employers would recognize the intangibles like leadership, discipline, and work ethic, but you still need to start with a skill set that they need. Honestly, my wife is more prepared for something in this field, she works as an analyst for So. California Edison. We live less than an hour from some of the huge wind farms they run in the Mojave desert. She's really got her finger on the pulse of the grid, so to speak.
Thanks, I really would appreciate your advice on this! I think I mentioned that I'm hoping to attend UWGB starting in the fall of '09, they've got an environmental policy and planning major. I'm hoping that over the course of my studies, I'll be able to narrow down my career path. How did you get started?
Wow, reading your bio and seeing how your career has dove-tailed into wind energy is amazing! I truly envision myself being in some related field in the future.
