We have an enormous, urgent environmental and economic task ahead of us, and it is one that we have ignored for far too long. If we are going to create clean energy industry jobs in this country, break the stranglehold that foreign oil has on our economy and punish the polluters who are devastating our natural resources, then we’ve got to be honest about the difficult tasks and tough choices ahead. It’s going to mean telling the special interests that their days of dictating energy policy in… Continue

America has to move away from depending upon imported oil as its principal transportation fuel. A national conference on alternative-fueled vehicles is being held this week in Orlando to look at how we can accomplish this with our present resources.
America continues to import nearly 70 percent of the oil we use. It is a mistake to believe that, because oil is temporarily at $50 per barrel instead of the more-than $100 a barrel of last summer, our dependency… Continue
I work as a bus mechanic with the local transit agency(Chicago Transit Authority), at our southern most garage. We at the CTA have also accepted delivery on a large number of diesel-hybrid buses. It is a major step toward the future.
My garage is in close proximty to an area comprising the Chicago International Harbor, Norfolk & Southern LTL terminal , the municipal landfill & several other businesses.
This area I speak of seems to have room for an LNG powered coal… Continue

My kids and I participated in the Earth Day "Film on the Fly" digital storytelling contest sponsored by the PBS affiliate in Orange County, CA, and submitted a video titled, "Go Green! Go Electric!"
Change.gov offers a chance to email the president to express your vision of change. I encourage all of you to do the same. I took his energy policy, pasted it into the body of the message, and added my own thoughts (preceded with "---"). Putting a lot of emphasis on the words "Pickens Plan" near the end!
---Thank you for taking the time to entertain the ideas and actions of the American People you serve. As an employee of the natural gas measurement industry, I have a personal agenda… Continue

I'm not stupid, sometimes it's hard to follow my own advice. but try this...bet you smile. Click on the critters at the top to change which one you see. Move your mouse and watch the fish swim.
Have you been staying awake at night trying to figure out why we have so many questions and so few answers? How can we have so many intelligent people that understand the problems we face, but can't reach their solutions.
Could their be a "silver bullet" to end this recession?
I think the solution is quite simple. In order to fix this economy, we have to increase spending. How can we do that with our home equity shrinking, Limited credit markets, compiling consumer credit… Continue

Hello there, Nice People. My goal is to build safe havens all over the country and use the concept of solar energy as a tool. We could attain wind turbines, attach solar panels to our buildings, and if we build near water, we could use a hydro method conducting energy.
I'm still working on the idea; it takes money, however, with a little love, the faith in the fact it is God's Will, and believe in my dreams, I can do this!
My very best to everyone in recovering from our… Continue

Say what you will about the Pickens Plan, but it's something, and it's easier to start from something than nothing. As T. Boone Pickens has said "If you're going to plant a tree, the best time to plant it is 20 years ago. If you didn't do that, the second best time is now."
This Wednesday is Earth Day, and now would be a good time to plant that metaphorical tree. Get involved in your community, join an online discussion, or start one up at your workplace. See what kind of ideas you… Continue
