BusinessWeek reader L.J. Furman sees alternative fuels as common sense for the common good
By L.J. Furman
In July 2008, Al Gore challenged the U.S. to generate 100% of the electricity we need using clean, renewable, sustainable sources within 10 years. "When you connect the dots," he said, "it turns out that the real solutions to the climate crisis are the very same measures needed to renew our economy and escape the trap of ever-rising energy prices." Gore connected the dots to the crises we… Continue

America added 8.4GW of installed power… Continue

LYRICS
Paper, plastic, one or two,
Don’t throw out, come renew.
When your garbage bin is full,
Stop! The Earth pays the toll.
Ozone layer’s falling apart,
Like a guy without a heart.
Earth only got hundred more years,
Until we ruin it for our peers.
Garbage can hurts to the core,
You put a bottle in it comes ask for more,
I say stop! Do none of that,
Throwing out garbage is wickety wak.
Go green!
Go green!
Go green!
Go green!
You like trees, I do too.
To save the se… Continue

Hey Army!

DAVOS, Switzerland (Reuters) - Energy leaders at the World Economic Forum debated the true cost of fuel on Thursday as they grappled with the implications of world recession and how to navigate out of it.
Record-high oil prices close to $150 a barrel in July last year added to the pain of economic slowdown, and now much cheaper prices of near $40 a barrel could help the global economy to rally.
But for consumers, producers and the planet, oil at that level could be too cheap… Continue
