Natural gas is the future of energy. It is replacing dirty old coal plants, and dangerous expensive nuclear plants. It will fuel cars, trucks, vans, buses, locomotives, aircraft, ships, tractors, air conditioners, engines of all kinds. It costs far less. It will help keep us out of more useless wars, where we shed our blood and money. It is used to make many products. It lowers CO2 emissions, and pollution. Over 4,400 natural gas… Continue

Back in September we reported that French Car-maker PSA had teamed up with Mitsubishi to make an electric vehicle based on the zippy i-MiEV. Well, this week it seems that the partnership has come to fruition, after Citroen unveiled the C-Zero, an all-electric car set to hit the showrooms late next year.
The compact C-Zero features an identical drivetrain to the i-MiEV, with a… Continue

Canadian province Ontario is to introduce green-coloured licence plates, available only to drivers of plug-in hybrids and battery-powered electric vehicles.
Sounds like another gimmick? Well, here’s the deal - vehicles sporting the new green plates will be able to drive in the province’s dedicated carpool lanes until 2015, even if only one person is in the vehicle.…

A US-built Tesla Roadster has broken the world record for the distance traveled by an electric production car on a single charge. While competing in the Global Green Challenge, Australian Simon Hackett and co-driver Emilis Prelgauskas drove an incredible 313 miles before the batteries finally died in their Roadster.
Until now, the record has been held by another… Continue

First, let me warn you that this will be something that you won't believe, yet it's true. These facts support the claim of who is guilty of being involved in a conspiracy to keep you from owning electric vehicles and basically doing everything in their power to keep you and I "ENERGY PRISONERS"!! I will direct you to a number of sites to learn more of the facts in the process of educating you to just what the real situation is concerning freeing yourselves from these chains. Also don't be at… Continue

II attended a sparsely attended meeting regarding the possibility of drilling for NG in the Marcellus Shale region last night, sponsored by local Community Board 8 in Manhattan. The Marcellus Shale is home to 90% of New York City's drinking water. Although there were only about a dozen audience members, some of whom served on the community board, those who were there knew what they were talking about, and about the dangers of commercial fracturing to obtain Natural Gas (NG).
There comments… Continue

I don't usually post links to other articles - Pickens' people are already so well informed! But in this case, I am making an exception. The referred article shows how some pretty terrific alternative energy technologies are being suppressed and gobbled up by big oil in order to suppress them. Now that we are entering a depression, it will be even harder for small, startup companies to resist the takeover efforts of Big Oil and Big Coal (these companies lose money too in a downturn, but not… Continue

Fred Robinson has been working to convert standard automobiles to run on alternative fuels for more than 30 years. The Stagecoach-area resident lives in a solar-powered home he built himself and converted a 2003 Hummer H2 so it can run on several different fuels, including hydrogen and ethanol. Unleaded is an option, too, he said, when he finds himself far from an alternative-fuel station. — Photo by Joel Reichenberger

I am interested in installing CNG Refueling Stations in western New York. How do we go about making this happen? We can all convert our much needed F-250 4x4 pickup trucks and save fuel. We would love to open a facility to convert people's vehicles to CNG for them. We can make the impact right now in a very short amount of time. This is something we can do. We need a waiver from red tape and DER restrictions that keep the plan from happening. Who can make sure that a project like this is not… Continue

The US Natural Gas Vehicle Technology Forum (NGVTF) is revitalizing its efforts to develop and deploy commercially competitive natural gas engines, vehicles, and infrastructure, according to the Department of Energy.
In June 2008, NGVTF leaders met in Diamond Bar, California, to formulate strategies and establish an NGVTF Steering Committee. The first NGVTF all–stakeholder meeting under… Continue

What would it take to start a business to start converting our existing vehicles to alternative fuels? CNG (compressed natural gas), LNG (liguified natural gas), LPG (liguified propane gas)
Once the vehicle has been converted to run either gasoline and an alternative fuel it would be advantages for the owners of the conversion to have a filling station close by with maintenance and inspections.

Stop the AntiMiling people! Look up the term "HyperMiling". There are 100 times the number of antimilers. People that waste gallons of motor fuel because of either ignorance or negligence. The reason doesn't matter. My main focus is motor fuel. There is more. Its one part of the puzzle I know fairly well. A three step plan is in order:
Our first step is to teach people how to do "HyperMile Lite". Get people to drive their vehicles in a more efficient manner. Reform the… Continue

I purchased a new Oldsmobile Cutlass diesel in 1979. The car was a polluter, but got 33 mpg. - and diesel was cheaper than gas - around 30 cents a gallon! It was difficult to find diesel fuel stations at that time...not an experience I would want to relive. In 1984 I had a Dodge Van that had a conversion kit for propane - also got great mileage - but again, fueling was an issue.
Here it is 2008, and the best a new car buyer can expect is no better mileage than I got nearly forty… Continue

The rest of the world seems to be already comfortably seated on the natural gas vehicles bandwagon while the United States is still stuck in traffic (in their gasoline and diesel powered vehicles) while driving to the parade. Most notable Iran and (in the story below) Argentina have gotten into the lead in developing and implementing plans to convert their vehicles to natural gas fuel.
I have pointed out the superiority of gaseous fuels in other stories and it is high time that… Continue

Which is the better deal
? Driving a car running on natural gas or gasoline? I have heard that it's a lot cheaper to drive a natural gas vehicle. T Boone and others say it's cheaper. But I need more. I need to see the numbers. I posted a thread on the pickensplan website, but didn't get a solid answer. So I set out to find the answer myself. It should be an easy task. I have a mathematics degree, some free time, and access to the internet. I can do this.
