The struggle inside the Republican party - - back to true Republican principles - - doesn't seem to head in the right direction!

Let's face one MAJOR FACT: The reason why Obama got elected is MAINLY due to to the fact(s) that many Republicans and Republican industry leaders really screwed up, and did NOT abide by true Republican principles. When people get ripped off - - and they clearly see who is ripping them off, and when they have to pay the bill - - - they simply respond. Add to this McCaine's ignorance about environmental issues, and for many voters that left only one choice. And now, instead of taking action… Continue

How about addressing real clean energy and transportation issue?

Has this site - - - originally established to discuss and evaluate real clean energy and transportation issues - - - deteriorated to yeast infections and camera straps? Sounds like discussions in the House and Senate! Suggestions made everywhere, during the next elections "throw all the bums out," makes more and more sense! Back to basics: Plug-in Hybrids. EVs (electric vehicles). PV (photovoltaics). Geothermal. Intelligent grid. There is no such thing as "clean coal," - - - jus… Continue

Hypocrits in Washington? No, that couldn't be - - - or - - - what do YOU think?

A Washington bipartisan group released a major report that - - again - - calculated the ever increasing problems with increasing CO2 levels, and how PREVENTION of deforestation could balance it. The burning of tropical forests and their conversion to cattle farms and soybean fields is responsible for about 17% of the emissions that cause global warming (ref.: any major newspaper, 10.8.09). Absolutely correct! The report suggests that this is more than the world's cars, trucks, and… Continue

About the costs of installing solar PV or wind systems on your home.

Regarding costs, look at it as the percentage return you get on your money. 4 years ago I installed a 3 kw roof PV system (see picture below). Thanks to the ideal angle and direction of the roof, the return is a whopping 11%. Try to get this from an investment company - - never! As per Energy experts like Khosla or Ehrenpreis: "Forget about wind farms and solar plants run by conventional utility companies. In the new energy regime, the people are the utilities and their houses are theContinue

Re. Corps of Engineers issues Clean Water Act permit for Coal Strip Mining - - - true Washington paid off El Toro Poo Poo!

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued a Clean Water Act permit last month for Consol Energy’s Peg Fork mountaintop removal coal mine in Mingo County, West Virginia. For more details see the post by Robert Schultz at "Organizers and Leaders." Environmentally, the worst an administration can do to our country is to support COAL STRIP MINIContinue

El Toro Poo Poo everywhere! Was this the change you were looking for?

Are these the changes you were looking for? 4 years ago we installed a 3 kw PV system on my house - - - 3 kw because I listened to the eternal promises (in reality El Toro Poo Poo) by GM, that "soon" they would have their plug-in hybrid available for sale, and because I wanted to have enough electricity to charge one. In China they started selling small and medium-size plug-in hybrids Dec. 08. What happen… Continue

Suggested letter for your Senators. Copy and E-mail to them.

Dear Senator _____________________ I understand that the Obama administration just informed a W-Va Congressman (also coal lobbyist) that they would not stand in the way of 24 coal strip mining projects. While an Oxford University study clearly showed that we must start reducing coal now, and if we don't do so "that we have a 90% chance of undoing the conditions on Earth that allowed and supported the development of human civilization." Why is such extreme scientific ignora… Continue

Politics, Politics, Politics! Don't you get tired of the eternal El Toro Poo Poo? "WHERE HAVE ALL THE LEADERS GONE?" asks Lee Iacocca.

a) Our Congress passes an energy bill in total disagreement with science facts! b) Putting the PICKENS PLAN into action is endangered because some people don't like HIGH-POWERED transmission lines! c) Utility companies really dislike solar electric PV systems ON OUR HOUSES; THEY REDUCE THEIR SALES OF ELECTRICITY. d) The NEW GM emerges as a just smaller unit of the SAME old crap; have you seen G… Continue

The Semi-Farce, the Energy Bill, is in the Senate! Will our Senators acknowledge science facts and straighten it out, or worsen it?

As we are now experiencing with the Energy Bill, when CHANGE is truly necessary (documented with science facts), and a new set of regulators initiate the change, the result is better than nothing, but still A NATIONAL SHAME. Why? Because it becomes obvious that politicians (Congress) allow themselves to be so controlled (bought, pushed, paid off?) by special interests that the change they make (passing the energy bill) is contrary to scientific facts. Examples: Science facts publis… Continue

Aren't YOU p----d off to the hilt, yet? Part II: Wasting your stimulus $$$ with dishonest schemes!

Luana Todd asked: :"Why are gasoline prices increasing, while demand is down?" - - - and then shows how our stimulus dollars, paid to banks, are often used to manipulate the market for oil prices to increase. Excellent post. Please read it! This week's business news: There has been an ever increasing oil glut for 8 months now; yet gasoline prices kept creeping up. Oil glut coul… Continue

Aren't YOU p----d off to the hilt, yet?

The same people we just bailed out with our tax money playing their dishonest games on the market, causing gasoline prices to rise artificially! Ever listen to Lee Iacocca? "Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should… Continue

Re.: Passage of the energy bill: TOTAL PROOF THAT MONEY CAN BUY EVERYTHING!

We all received letters and E-mails from Steve Bouchard of Repower America. So, I sent him a reply to his most recent E-mail that claimed the energy bill as a historic success. Steve Bouchard: Even though better than nothing, the passage of this bill - - not very impressive - - only shows one major thing, NAMELY HOW CORRUPT CONGRESS IS, AND THAT MONEY BUYS EVERYTHING. Just two examples: 1) Don't I recall Repower America telling us that there is no such thing as clean coal, and that coal… Continue

A personal letter to President Obama.

If the legislation regarding energy/environment, pending in Congress, is passed, we are not only seeing our Congress paid off and influenced by special (coal) interests, BUT ACCORDING TO AN OXFORD UNIVERSITY STUDY - - LA Times, OP-ED section, June 25, 09 - - shows that, with recent CO2 production levels, and CO2 increases in the near future, "that we have a 90% chance of undoing the conditions on Earth that allowed and supported the development of human civilization." YES, it is TH… Continue

Even MORE about "A NATIONAL SHAME," Washington caving in to, and paying off, the coal industry.

OUR OWN EPA CONCLUDES: "if the emissions limits go into effect, the US would use more carbon-dioxide-heavy coal in 2020 than it did in 2005." Please check out previous posts: The coal problem by the numbers, CLICK HERE, showing that coal usage must be decreased, instead of increased. Washington caving in to coal, CLICK HERContinue

A NATIONAL SHAME: Washington selling out to coal BIG-TIME; spear-headed by Democrats in the house and coal industry $$$.

CO2 excesses cause climate change; no question about that! In addition, there is "ultrafine particle pollution" that has a devastating effect not only on heart, but also on brain, lungs, and fetal development. The centerpiece in a 200-page legislative package (News releases June 21, 09) is to allow the coal industry to actually increase coal usage. Washington is doing this to get support from Congressional Democrats from coal-dependent areas, including Henry Waxman, D-Calif. EPA p… Continue

Please do not overlook Washington caving in on coal - - - strip-mining, total environmental destruction!

Visualize a big mountain, overgrown by a forest of thousands of trees! Now clear-cut the forest, then blow the top off the mountain, and dump the debris into stream beds. This turns forests into moonscapes, pollutes the air with coal and rock dust, and poisons water supplies! Coal strip mining, including the destruction of thousands of trees, is an environmental disaster. Is it because union members are doing the destruction that Washington is supporting it?… Continue

Back to politics as usual? Democrats (spear-headed by Rep. Nick Rahall, D-WVa.) caving in to coal $$$s, destroying our environment!

Visualize a big mountain, overgrown by a forest of thousands of trees! Now clear-cut the forest, then blow the top off the mountain, and dump the debris into stream beds. This turns forests into moonscapes, pollutes the air with coal and rock dust, and poisons water supplies! This alone is an environmental disaster - - - it's called COAL MINING; strip-mining what is under the mountain! Last week the Washington administration sent a letter to coal industry lobbyist - - - oops… Continue
