Best use of solar panels

I ran into this article recently that I think is worth sharing. For those of you who have driven into an open parking area to park on a hot summer day only to find the shady areas are all taken. You have looked everywhere, dreading to shut down the pleasant air conditioning in your car, you have been forced to use the brightest spot to return and find the heat in your car could be used as a glass blower's furnace and it's going to take the ac at least 20 horrible minutes to cool down and get com… Continue

Who killed the electric car?

Who killed the electric car? Documentary film is a convincing indictment of the oil industry, GM and the Bush’s administration efforts to thwart the mass manufacturing of the electric car by US automakers. “The EV1 was the first modern production electric vehicle from a major automaker and also the first purpose-built electric car produced by General Motors (GM) in the United States. Introduced in 1996, The EV1 electric cars were available in California and Arizona as a lease only, as well as th… Continue

Now's the time to put pressure on Congress

It' time for everyone in Pickens Plan to put pressure on Congress, if you have already, do it again, urge your friends to do it too. Use the new Pledge and Congress link on the website. Energy bill: Drowning in Washington Senators to convene at Capitol Hill energy summit on Friday but experts are skeptical as to whether Congress can agree on an energy bill by Sept. 26 deadline. NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- An energy summit is taking place Friday on Capitol Hill and all 100 senators - inclu… Continue

Partisanship and Lobbyist are hurting us again

Dear Pickens Plan friends and members. Partisan politics and lobbyist efforts are slowing down the progress of Pickens Plan and Alternative energy. We need to stand united in our call for a comprehensive energy policy that includes the entire spectrum of alternative, renewable and clean energy sources as well as drilling for oil and natural gas wherever it’s available in our country. Our energy supply infrastructure is in total disarray. We need to fix it.

Dear Pickens Plan members. I am proud to be an American and to live in a country that has so much to offer in entrepreneurial opportunity but it is a shame to have an energy supply system that is in such disarray. Our government is what we want it to be and it should do what we want it to do. The idea that privatization is always best for our country is wrong because privatization is too convoluted and limited in its scope when it comes to nationwide projects. One thing our federal government ca… Continue

Pickens Plan gains in popularity

Dear Pickens Plan Members. There are many choices for alternative electric energy but the real question is; which is the most cost effective for where I live? Pickens Plan is a NATIONAL plan that promises to bring cost effective energy drawn from the windy Mid-US where the wind is strong and steady and solar power from our dessert areas. The reason for doing this is to free-up natural gas for our transportation fleet, which uses 38% of our imported oil and for automobiles as a second fuel choice… Continue

What is our government's role in Pickens Plan?

Pickens Plan needs to be approved by our government before it becomes a reality. Mr. Pickens needs our government’s help, not to invest in it but to help him set up the infrastructure needed to carry the power from his proposed wind and solar farms and natural gas deposits to the rest of the country, a project likened to the building of our Interstate Highway system in the 50’s. If his plan is adopted by the next administration he and others will eventually be seeking the private funding needed,… Continue

Got it.

Ok, I think I get it now. After listening to Mr. Pickens a little longer and immersing myself into several discussion groups and government websites these are the steps we need to take to reduce our use of oil from the Middle East and Venezuela. 1.Our Homes: Conservation, Recycling, Wind, Solar, Hydroelectric, Nuclear and Natural Gas for power, cooking and heating in our homes. 2.Our Automobiles: Drive less, CNG, LNG, LPG, EV, Biodiesel, Ethanol, dual fuel personal vehicles; flex fuel vehicles (… Continue

Please focus on the goal

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I thought Pickens Plan was more about getting us, the USA, off of foreign oil, not about saving the environment. It's a matter of National Security, we need some quick action to stop sending $700 Bill. to the Middle East and nations that don't like us, would like to see us pay $200 a barrel of oil and become a third world nation. Imagine what we could do if we can keep that much money here (like work on environmental problems) and not send it overseas. Pickens Pla… Continue

The best plan on the table

I think Pickens Plan is the best plan yet to eliminate our dependence in foreign oil and retain the wealth of our country. We are being held hostage by OPEC and making unfriendly countries rich with our continued use of gasoline for transportation and heating oil. Continue
