Friends, countrymen, Americans; lend me your ears.
On Friday, February 6, 2009 I was at the meeting with Mr. Pickens in Houston. I heard say the following about the global competition for energy.
Russia is committing 32% of the next annual budget to developing their energy production capabilities.
Argentina & Iran have switched their automotive fleets to flex fuel capabilities that rely on domestically alternatives such as natural gas more than gasoline.
Saudi Arabia has pegged the…

Exactly how many of you would agree that retrospection is an occasionally useful tool isn't important to this little essay. The significant point is that we all use our history to help us deal with the right now and plan for the future. Agreement isn't necessary when the facts are well known and widely published. Today, this establishment of the facts issue is the problem that the Pickens Plan must address.
Since it's inception, PP has attracted a large following and generated a near subculture…

From one high to a record low.
I had been out taking care of business that I have been neglecting during the election season. I decided to day to start at the top of the list of emails that are always waiting for me when I come back in from running about and Pat Jack's "California Sends Pickens Packing - Prop 10 Loses" was the first on the list. Man, what a bummer, but not because Jack is in any error.
Sometime ago (years, honestly) I came to the conclusion that when I got bad or negative news…

First, What Are The Questions?
Do we all agree the the Elephant should be public and available to all Pickens' Plan Participants? Do we further agree that the inventions, innovation products, and services should be prefaced with a protective document? Something like an admonition to those intellectual property holder w\regard to thier rights and a mandatory mutual non-disclosure agreement form that establishes the rules for engagement between the supplying and the receiving parties.

Many people are asking themselves, “What can I do to get a peice of this elephant on a plate?”
You should have already started the ball to rolling by requesting a lot of solid interest in the Pickens Plan, this is still important; I’ll give you an excellent reason to (start, keep on, or renew your efforts to) evangelize the plan a little later. A group of Pickens Planers started brain busting ideas a few days ago and we wonder if an Investment Club could be formed so all of us could c

A guy I never met came up with an idea.
That idea sparked some insights that I want to share with you.
Monte, an artist and patriot, wrote of elephants, barn raisings and many visually striking analogies that one generally associated with the higher and strategic thinking process. I hope to appeal to the more mundane thinking that is common in your doing process.
As I visualize Monte's Elephant I see that it is an investment club with a non-profit status [501(3) c] whose charter allows Pickin…

Unity
The beauty of the non-geographic America, (you know . . . the people) isn't simply a cultural trait. The future of mankind is unity in spirit, not necessarily governmental. There are plenty of native born Americans who simply don't get it. The old school melting pot metaphor is tired and somewhat hard to comprehend in a digital age, but it still applies. Let me do the short form explanation.
What happened in between 1492 and 1776 gave the U.S. an attitud

Where I Come From
For a great deal of my life, I dealt with laywers, judges and other cops. It was a decent job with some hidden benefits in regards to those small (but significant) satisfactions that you can't regularly get otherwise. One or two things became ingrained in me. First, character and honor can not be separated. They are like your lungs. You get a pair as a set and to be frank, they aren't a failsafe system. That is, should you loose one set, you really do miss it dispite ho…

Dear Politicians,
It is difficult to believe that you and your staff are truly interested in the working people of your constituency when so little seems to be getting done to alleviate the current problems we face. In short, we need leadership that is innovative, but at this time innovation means listening to common people complain, finding themes and prioritizing the introduction or amendment of legislation that not only permits the generation or stimulation economic activity; but also repeal…

Energy: - An American Perspective
This blog is dedicated to bridiging the gap between speculation and determination on what your individual contribution to the Pickins Plan may accomplish. So much of the plan is subjective and quite a few contributors seem more concerned with person gain that creation of a national energy policy, that I thought it would help to start another conversation on the historical persective of energy in America.
The Pickins Proposition: A Shift in Wealth and…
