I don't see one Congressperson from CA on the list... This is a long state to have no spine huh? No wonder we're collapsing.

All we can do is to work on those in office now hoping that maybe there will be a lame duck session and maybe something will get done in it and if not then to aggressively go after those that will be new in congress after the election and continue with those that are returning. Just as I have done. It may be that one that is replaced would have been better than one that they were replaced by but still we have to remain aggressive with our efforts. If you do not push the issue with them they may not see it as important. When they do not see it as important then you have to convience them with numbers, that means taking an army to them in letters demanding it.

This is where the group here is so beneficial, it is a mobilized army that you can draw from all looking for developing energy independence. We must stick together and all speak to rep's on ever level of government. If you can get the state to back it the national will follow, if you can get the national to back it the state will follow and do not forget the local governments, from towns to counties. I apply this, I have been from the town council to the county commissioners to the state level rep and senator and to the governors office. I may not be as effective as one voice but I atleast make the effort. With others saying the same thing my voice becomes a chorus speaking in unison and that gets noticed.

This is an army for energy independence, our weapons are our pen and voice. Speak out and write to every one in government and do not stop speaking and writting until we win the battle and achieve energy indepenedence. If you do this, all of us individually and together as a community when the need arises, then we can achieve this objective. Do not give up on this battle as it will take some time, but the time invested will be well worth the effort for the future of this nation. Those of you that are here are the patriots of this revolution for energy independence, never forget that and you are a valued assest to this nation in this effort.

I have to commend each of you and thank you for what you are doing and represent, keep up the good work.

I have been working on Sen. Arlen Specter, Sen. Bob Casey Jr, Rep. Todd Platts and Rep Bill Schuster to get onboard with a renewable energy plan since The last congress went into session in January 2007 and Previous to that I worked on all of them except Bob Casey Jr and including then Sen. Rick Santorum since mid 2006, I t was a shame Bob Casey Jr won over Rick Santorum, what a big mistake that was for the people of this state. Rick Santorum was all for renewable energy, Bob Cases Jr will not even consider it or reply to my letters or requests for a meeting, not even with his staff, he is a joke for a Senator, in my opinion any way.

KICK.....ASS!! Thanks for the list. I thought we should have a place to do what you said: "If your Congressman and/or Senators are not on the list, call their office and ask them why!" several weeks ago, so I made Politicians and Policymakers for a New Energy Independence Plan. I have divided it into discussions for every state and posted links to the web pages of Congresspeople and governors so people can contact them with thanks. I have found most of this information by doing google searches and I think we could use this area for more direct action toward our elected reps. I would like to see an official place for this to happen in view of the army or we could just make all of the regional leaders co-administrators of this group and link to it from the main page. 1.4 million people want to know who is on their side and who needs to be coerced.

What are the post-election plans? Is someone going to be following up on this list to see how many of these folks will still be in office? We can forget abou the current administration doing anything - they are too busy trying to gut the endangered species act, among other things. At this point, it is useless to try to get the candidates to pledge, as they will not make a major policy shift like this so close to the election. We need to think of the next steps.

The letter i sent to Congressman Todd Platts was sent Oct 17, 2008 via e-mail to his assistant Kristen Erway. Below is a copy of the e-mail that was sent.

Dear K. Erway:

Where is the congressman going to be during the next week? Is he going to be in the area? If so would he like to talk with me?

I would like to know if he has changed his position to the economic benefit that a national water system could have for the nation? I applaud his resistance to the economic bail out of wall street. It has had little effect and it will not have an effect. As long as oil prices remain high and the average American consumer's buying power is less because of high oil prices we really do not have a chance to recover.

This is what I was trying to get across to the congressman. Not only does a national water system create infrastructure jobs to stimulate the economy but it also allows areas of this nation to look towards developing renewable energies through giving them ability to develop biomass feed stocks supported with sustainable water resources. This increases agricultural production which also creates jobs. The increased agricultural production allows for increased bio fuel production which also creates jobs. All while reducing funds that are funneled out of the country paying for imported oil.

I would like to point out that T. Boone Pickens is seeking to develop a wind generating infrastructure and to shift automobile fuels to CNG. I in some ways support this idea as a bridge to developing energy independence. I, however, do not support the continued use of fossil fuels as our primary fuel source. We must develop alternatives. In order to accomplish this with bio fuels we as a nation have to address the sustained development of the feed stocks need for fuel production. This is where the national water system plays its major role. Not to mention the design of such a water system should look to aggressively collect flood waters as one of its water supply sources. This also has benefit in that it can reduce the time an area experiences under flooding conditions which may prove beneficial to saving crop lands that would other wise be destroyed by the flood event.

I can not say that such a water system would prevent all flooding and some damage from such events. I can say that in order to minimize effects the flood waters have to be drained as quickly as possible.

On the other issues I am looking to address, the Hydrogen Electric Generating Plant, I am in a financial bind and have not been able to advance the research for some time now. I could use some advice in that area if he would be willing to give some pointers.

On a final note, I do not care if National Water Fund is not the responsible party for developing a national water system. I however needs to be accomplished by some group or government entity where the system seeks to be a public benefit and not one that is geared by greed and profit. It will pay for itself in the long run by the savings it brings to this nation via money retained from not having to pay for imported oil. We spend nearly $700 Billion a year for such imports, an investment of in the neighborhood of two to 4 times amount should be able to accomplish a very good water system that will enable this nation to retain that amount each year and recover the investment with interest with in 10 years after completion. If it is a concerted effort to make this water system it should be able to be completed within 8 years provided funding in the order of 2.8-3.0 trillion is applied to its immediate wide spread commencement.

Please, I need a champion on this issue, and I know for a fact that the congressman is beginning to see the economic benefit, else why did he vote against the bail out?

Thanks,

Robert Ware

I see my congressman Todd R. Platts (R) PA 19th Congressional signed the pledge :) I wonder if it was prompted by my letter to him or if it was a combination of many letters from every one here. None the less HE SIGNED THE PLEDGE !! :)
