1st Anniversary of the Pickens Plan Announcement

While there are certainly many activities and specific events taking place throughout the nation all year long (many now related to energy issues), perhaps we all should take a moment on July 8th to celebrate the creation of this unifying project, called the Pickens Plan by it's founder. Without this visionary's efforts, we still would be languishing in 1970's wishful thinking. So make sure that on this date you send a heartfelt thanks to Mr. Pickens for beginning this road to energy freedom, through his spirit and dedication in allowing us to stop being "energy prisoners". I know that is is my own hope that this project continues forward beyond our own days, for the sake of our children.

As you all may know I have been promoting an online 1st Anniversary Celebration of the founding of the Pickens Plan by Boone one year ago on Wednesday July 8th, since early May. Unfortunately, I am not available to be there for a physical event in support of it. A just received an email from Mike a little over two hours ago to try to put something together here in Central Florida. I still can't be there, but I'm here to encourage everyone to meet in downtown Orlando for an impromptu local Central Florida 1st Anniversary event on July 8th. I posted an article on the local Orlando Florida News TOPIX.COM website at: http://www.topix.com/city/orlando-fl/2009/07/the-time-has-come-for-you-to-stop-being-an-energy-prisoner-july-8-celebration-2 so if you can please represent the District as best as you are able. I realize that this is last minute, so if you can bring other people, sigs and encourage people to join the Pickens Plan, please do what you can!! Thanks... Mark
