By all means network, network, network as much as possible. There are too many viable means for us to be self sustainable and could provide a means for us all to survive. We've got to agree and get as many as possible on board.
One thing Tom Zellar and I've been working on is finding out which way the reps have been voting for or against the tax credits for alternative energy and with your contacts you could also raise that roof a bit. Tom has posted a link on his page for access to the congressional voting records. Each person could find out how their reps are voting and we should respond accordingly in the voting booth. VOTE VOTE VOTE
Check your reps voting record on energy issues. Refer to Tom Zellar's page. He has a link to ck it out.
And, it isn't only that easy. We are going to need oil and gas for their created and effective niche in our survival, however, those two are limited in the long run and we must make the change to better sustainable and non-limited supply to take the financial burden off of us NOW, plus protect the future needs of our needed products we can only get from petroleum products, like medical products, etc. We've got enough to sustain us, if we'd just get the "big old boys" off their throne and back to working for the betterment of our nation's future.
I am very concerned about the "biggies" trying to take control of all of the thrust we are generating leaving us "smallies" dangling in need.
I am for Step One: putting solar, wind collection on every rooftop
thereby helping each household financially and at the same time help the power collection grid in general, for that particular community.[self sustainable if need be]..
That would take concentrated effort and contributions from everybody from individual to governments.
The energy collectors themselves should pay for themselves in short order, thus repaying the original investor and all the while giving more cost effective energy that is attainable to each community, rather than have it piped from miles away, another cost factor.
The benefits would be instant and climb from thereon.
Give tax credits to those who work and pay taxes.
Grants to those who have lived through and past their working years.
Tax incentives to all small businesses, hospitals, schools both public and private, Nursing homes, retirement centers, etc.
Step 2. Focus on automobiles.
a) People in the buying mode, make commitment to buy "green and clean".
b) People unable to purchase, conversion kits made available to local mechanics for each and every car on our road.
c) Government's part:
1. Tax credits, grants to homeowners, hospitals, schools, small businesses.
2. School and college tuition helps and credits for students who excel in new energy studies.
3. Place large ion collector grids into all industrial stacks that spill toxins into the
atmosphere, using waste for energy source.
4. Press auto manufacturers to produce clean energy only autos:
a.) Electric cars for easy attaining.
b.) Conversion kits for all autos created heretofore.
c.) Conversion kits for all Trucks, big and small.
d.) Set up training facilities in schools to bring neighborhood mechanics up to date,
plus set up training online video for experienced mechanics to draw from.
e.) Provide tax incentives for all mechanics to make a high grade on tests
f.) Provide tax incentives for all mechanics shops and service stations who install
and provide new "Green and clean" energy products and mechanical services.
5. DEADLINE - yesterday.
I don't think it behooves us as a nation to be too tied to any one source that could easily cripple many of us in diverse situations. The Power Grid should be supplied well and from many, many sources and can flow from any direction in case of a problem.
