ARTISTS ROUND-UP

As mentioned in the opening statement of The Artists Round-up Group that was created on the 9th of September 08, the primary purpose of this group is actually dual. First: to literally round-up all the artists who have enlisted in the Pickens Army. Second: to establish a single location on pickensplan.com where artists can make themselves and their talents,skills, expertise and more known to each other and to all on this site. This is not only intended as a resource for the artist but equally for those in need of an artist(s). As a third purpose (Yeah, I know I said the purpose was dual but another one just came to mind) this group can be a location where artists can network, collaborate and do what artists do. That is, bring new things into existence.

The term artist is being used here in its most embracive and inclusive sense. It is my truth (it may or may not be yours) that every person on this planet is inherently an artist. However, with that being said, not everyone has a self-awareness of that part of themselves. I have known many individuals in my lifetime (including myself years earlier) who are most definitely artists yet consistently invalidate themselves and will not acknowledge that they are artists. Somewhere along the way they have latched onto some hidden (and false) standard of what and artist is and they will not let go of this standard. And it is a standard that they "know" they can never achieve.

I hope that as we proceed in this endeavor that we can awaken a self-awareness in more and more individuals that they too are artists and have been being artists their whole life but without recognition or acknowledgement of that fact. That we can help to disabuse them of any hidden and/or false standards that they may be holding up to judge what an artist or art is or isn't.

Whether it is broadly realized or not all projects, if they ever hope to be successful, require art and artists. With this datum in mind, The Artists Round-Up, can serve as an immensely valuable resource for those who are originating projects and need to locate an artist(s) for a specific purpose.

There is a particular manner of communicating (an incredibly powerful one) that can be, and is, used as a two-way bridge between the coarse suppressive brutalities of life and the higher more expansive universes from where one can experience vistas of freedom, aesthetics and action never before imagined. This way of communicating can actually circumvent blind ignorance and disintegrate such lower based emotions like antagonism, anger, hate, resentment, fear, grief, despair, hopelessness and even apathy. Communicating in this manner can instantly turn a hard time into a good time and on occasion even raise the dead. In this way of communicating bridges are built upon which we travel from despair to hope and from old realities into the new and, as yet, uncharted ones. The manner of communicating that I am referring to is what we know as ART. Art is incredibly fluid throughout the entire range of human emotions and it can reach in to caress, sooth and revive even the darkest pockets of almost completely solidified emotion. With adroit execution art can instantly place you into the bowels of a particular unthinkable and painful brutality then rescue you with a single note, a lyric, a word, a touch, a taste or an image.

Art can also be an incredibly effective carrier wave for delivering information that shapes our perception of reality. Whether the reality being shaped is good or bad is not the fault of art instead it is the intention behind the use of art that determines its constructive or destructive results. For example, art being used to bring about a destructive reality is seen with Hitler's Nazis movement effectively using political/social cartoons to assist in engineering a new social reality that forwarded the Nazi ideals. Not a good thing. Then, on the other hand, art, if correctly used, is a wonderful tool to be used in the process of education. Using art one can by-pass many of the fundamental barriers to learning thus achieving rapid duplication and elevated understanding resulting in a higher order of civilization. The point is art is one hell of an effective tool but it is just a tool. It is the intention behind how the tool is being used which is key.

Many years ago I heard a guy put it like this: Life can be like an uncovered wooden box on two iron bars being rapidly dragged across frozen ground by a four-legged hairy beast. . . or . . . life can be like a one horse open sleigh dashing through the snow. Which expression (wavelength) of life would you prefer to reside in? Hence, it is suggested that art is not just a manner of communicating; it is also the quality of the communication.

The knowing use of art toward the attainment of the Pickens Plan goal is critical to the success of the game. The artist that resides within each and every one of us has at hand the means by which to seek out and reveal the infinite aspects of our goal for all to see as it sits there in the future waiting for our arrival. Truly, the artists have at their disposal the means by which to greatly expedite this movement into a new paradigm of energy.

Artists are recognized and acknowledged as being the senior and most key players in the game Pickens Plan. That's my truth. You may or may not agree with it.
