In case you haven't looked at or read my first or second set of Monteisms, I want to tell you that my Monteisms are emprical nuggets of wisdom that I have gleaned from my environment. There is no original material here. It has all been said by many others many times before and in many different ways. So all I have done is add my own unique twist from my own perspective. Even though the wisdom has many sources I am fortunate that when I happened across one of these nuggets I was at least cognitive enough to recognize its value and immediately add it to my collection.


Basically, my Monteisms are me giving myself counsel and I decided that I wanted to share them with whoever might want to read them.

Do not make the mistake of believing that just because a person has a lot of data and can readily find and offer the data that this person is wise or has wisdom. Data is not wisdom.

Corollary: Do not make the mistake that just because a person has no data to present that this person is not wise or doesn't have wisdom. Wisdom is not data.

The quickest and most effective way to learn something is to teach it to another or attempt to explain it to another.

When the pressure is on and the stress level is running high as the deadline nears....stop and ask yourself, "Why do I always have time to do things over but never time to do things right?"

Then ask yourself this question, "Under the present circumstances would it be better for me to take the short cut and come back later and make it right?"

Each one of us has and wears a student hat and a teacher hat. These two hats are fundamentally inherent. The trick is, though, to know when to stop wearing one hat and start wearing the other. When one is adroit at knowing when and where to put one hat down and pick up the other that person is being intelligent. Until such time the person is becoming intelligent.

The student becomes the teacher the teacher becomes the student the studen becomes the teacher....and so on and so forth the cycle goes...

An answer is secondary to the question. Therefore, a question is senior to a question as the asking of it causes the answer to come forth. There are many great life changing, life altering answers out there that are just waiting for the right questions.

Life is a game. And what you perceive and what you don't is relative to what game board within life that you are playing on. And just because you don't see a particular game board doesn't mean that it's not there. There are game boards in play and games being played right now that we could not begin to contemplate.

It is no accident or coincidence that we have such an immense abundance of diversity on our little planet. Celebrate and rejoice in diversity. Utilize it! Diversity is power. It is strength. It is endurance. It is brilliance. And...if you get out of its way...it is a rocket fuel that will make things go very fast.

You never really know who you are talking to or what they're up to or who they know. However, if you give a person the opportunity to communicate to you (not just with words) and let them communicate while you closely OBSERVE and LISTEN, a person will always (to greater and lesser degrees) tell you who they are, who they know and what their actual intention is. They will actually tell you what they have in store for you!
