Support Wind Power at Two Public Meetings - Wind Energy for Webb and Jim Hogg Counties Texas

The Pickens New Energy Army support for these projects is needed.

This is an invitation to two public meetings being held on November 12 and November 13 in Mirando City, Texas and Hebbronville, Texas.

Martifer Renewables Wind and American Shoreline are proposing 2 wind energy facilities to be located in Webb County and Jim Hogg County Texas near the communities of Oilton, Mirando City and Hebbronville. The project sponsors are seeking certification from the Border Environmental Cooperation Commission as an environmentally sustainable source of energy and this meeting is part of that certification process.

At this meeting you will learn about the project and have an opportunity to comment on items such as:

Location and size of the Projects
Proposed Development Timeline
Economic Impacts in South Texas
Environmental Impacts of the Project

Mr. Cummins,
I work at the Harte Research Institute in the Socio-economics group and I heard your talk yesterday here at the Harte on Wind Energy.
I've been doing some research on wind energy in Texas for a project I'm working on and this renewable energy really fascinates me. I was wondering if I could have access to your PowerPoint presentation since it had some really interesting data.
Also, I'm actually from Portugal so I'm happy to see Martifer involved here in Texas.
Thank you very much,
Carlota

Thanks for your comment. Martifer is based in Portugal and operates in 20 countries in construction, equipment manufacture and builder/operator of generation projects for wind, solar, biomass and wave energy. These South Texas wind projects will be their first in the US. For more info - http://www.martifer.pt

American Shoreline is an independent oil and gas exploration and production based in Corpus Christi that moved into the renewable space in 2002 with over 4,000MW of projects of wind power in development. The Penascal Wind Farm in Kenedy County on the Texas coast is their first project where 200MW will become operational in January 2009 with other phases to follow. http://www.amshore.com

Mannti,

I am not familiar with either Martifer Renewables Wind or American Shoreline companies but would like to know more even though I will nor be able to attend this meeting. Other business committments prohibit a trip at that time. Take a look at my profile page and see if any of my past experience would be helpful to either endeavour. Terry
