I think it is evident that we are passionate about this matter. I would suggest that we do away with the hyperbole and try to discuss this. I know you have already read this but I would like to stress that the Pickens Plan is a "bridge" to the future. It can also change as we go through the process.
The challenge we face is that the U.S. does not have an energy policy. Congress has failed and the Presidency has failed. It is a failure of imagination. When John F. Kennedy announced we would put a man on the moon in 1961 no one had any idea how it would be done. They got busy trying to find out "HOW" to do it. Pickens Plan is just a blueprint for a way to get to energy independence. And it will impact the rest of the world. The U.S. can lead or follow but the research to show us a new future is possible. We need activism to shake up the Washington mess and leadership to help those involved in research to step up their efforts. Did you know that there is actual experimentation with algae as an energy source and a source of cleaning the environment?
This is all practical research and application. The possibilities exist. What we need are the political will and the economic backing. This is where we come in. We are the people who say to policy makers that we are tired of their failure of imagination; imagine and new future.
